Brand Managers address all elements of a product line, service and/or organization in order to maintain or increase brand equity. This program will focus on providing professionals and aspiring brand managers with the skills and knowledge required to develop and execute a successful brand strategy. Topics investigated include consumer insights, brand perception, digital media and measuring return on investment.

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent (Mohawk Academic Upgrading, GED) OR 19 years of age or older.

You do not need to apply to begin this program. Start by ensuring you meet the admission requirements listed above and then register for the courses listed in the Program of Studies when they are offered.  Some courses have prerequisites, so please check the Program of Studies for details. Find out how to register for a course.

The program of studies displayed below applies to students starting the program in the 2017/18 academic year. Students who began in other academic years may require different courses to be eligible to graduate. Course description: Evaluate effective communication between marketers and consumers. Explain the strategies and benefits of real marketing campaigns that are delivered through various forms of media and other avenues. Recognize the Canadian regulatory environment and ethical issues in consumer communications.
Course description: Define brand value as it relates to consumer relationships. Interpret brand value through exploring the connection between branding and profitability. Conduct competitive assessments, identify target audiences and formulate value propositions. Identify perception gaps between organization and consumer and interpret consumer needs.
Course description: Identify brand influencers and communication amplifiers through social and digital media platforms. Apply the appropriate platform(s) as it/they relate to the brand and the targeted consumer. Interpret digital and social media analytics.
Course description: Examine the role of marketing research in the competitive global marketplace. Assess current research practices, including technological applications, and their interrelationship while exploring real world research applications. Explain the strategic marketing objectives that form the basis for web marketing strategies, and discuss the components of an online marketing plan.
Course description: Create brand strategies through the integration of various forms of media. Analyze and integrate industry best practices into brand strategies through in-depth case study reviews. Evaluate brand positioning, and related brand management strategies and tactics, over a period of time.
Prerequisites: MRKT10062
Course description: Identify techniques and tools for measuring and assessing brand performance. Evaluate brand-related outcomes through quantitative analysis in order to inform ongoing strategy development. Determine ROI of brand investments. Distinguish between brand awareness and brand recognition.
