Co-op Delivery and Fees

Driver's License and Vehicle

Please note that many of co-op positions for this program require that students have a valid driver’s license ('G' class preferred) and access to a vehicle.

Co-op Designation

This program offers three co-op work term opportunities but requires two completed co-op work terms for the co-op designation.

  • Criminal and Civil Law Authorities
  • Issues in Criminology
  • Arrest authorities of a Peace Officer and civilian
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Criminal Justice System
  • Basic use of force training
  • Traffic management
  • Youth federal legislation (Youth Criminal Justice Act) and education training
  • Investigation and evidence gathering
  • Interviewing and reporting skills
  • Communication techniques to Written Communication Test (WCT) standards
  • Ethics, powers and authority in the enforcement field
  • Diversity and First Nations
  • Conflict management and resolution, non-violent crisis intervention
  • Social and psychological awareness to issues in policing
  • Physical fitness training and wellness planning to Physical Readiness Evaluation standards
  • Law Enforcement Industry Trends, course allows students to individually select industry recognized certifications and
    training
