Primary duties
- Fabricating, Assembling and Fitting Structural Steel
- Set up and operate various equipment and tools such as; welders, torches, drills, various clamping tools, squares, disc grinders and other hand held tools.
- Assist in equipment assembly when required.
- Ensure safe work practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is worn at all times
Skills and Experience Required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints/engineering drawings
- Ability to read a tape measure in both metric and imperial
- Ability to Weld
- Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
- A team player, who can interrelate and operate effectively with peers and other associates within a collegial, yet demanding, work environment
- Organization Skills and the ability to be flexible in managing changing priorities
- Communication Skills – Both Written and Oral
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Problem-solving skills
- Hold a valid CWB welding certificate
