Can I still apply while the colleges are closed?
Yes, apply online through www.ontariocolleges.ca. There is a $95.00 application fee payable directly to the ontariocolleges.ca application site. OCAS is continuing to process applications.
Please note: Your application will not be released to Mohawk College until your application fee has been received and processed by the application site.
What is the deadline to apply to a program?
Mohawk will accept your application to a program, as long as there is still room in the program. Note that some popular or competitive programs fill quickly. Check to see if the program is still Open and accepting applications.
I am not sure what program I want to take. Who can help?

How do I know if I meet all admission requirements?
For full-time programs, once you’ve applied to ontariocolleges.ca, you will receive an acknowledgement email from Mohawk. In this package, you will receive instructions on how to access your My Mohawk account and check My Applicant Status, where you can see if anything is outstanding.
What is Mohawk College doing for the Fall semester? Will all courses be online?
After carefully considering a number of options, the college has made the decision to deliver the Fall 2020 semester through a combination of remote/virtual learning and in-person delivery. It is important to emphasize that our plan for the Fall semester is based on current information. As we have learned with the COVID-19 pandemic, the situation can change very quickly, and we may be forced to alter or change our plans unexpectedly in the weeks and months ahead. I am waiting to hear about my offer. How do I check?
Check your email and My Mohawk account first. If you still have questions, you can contact our Admissions team. Include your OCAS application number and/or Mohawk Student ID and submit through Contact Admissions or call: 1-844-767-6871
Can I accept my offer now?
Yes, to accept an offer of admission, confirm online at ontariocolleges.ca anytime by the deadline date listed in your offer. Applicants can also review their offer deadline date through the MyMohawk account under their My Application Status. You may confirm one Mohawk program and maintain your place on a wait list for another Mohawk program. If you are currently completing required subjects, you will be admitted on the condition that you complete academic subject requirements, plus any additional criteria, such as portfolios and/or questionnaires that may be required.
Can I change my program selection after I have accepted an offer to another program?
You can make changes to your current application by simply logging into ontariocolleges.ca and adding or deleting program choices. This is dependent on program availability. Applicants can have up to three program choices at one college and five program choices in total. You may have to delete a program choice in order to accommodate the additional program. There is no additional charge to make these changes.
When I will have to pay my tuition fees?
When you receive your offer package, you will get a breakdown of next steps. The first payment is the deposit to hold your spot for September. This is due June 15, requiring a non-refundable payment of $250.00. This information can also be found in My Mohawk, on the Applicant screen.
Can I defer my offer of admission?
An offer cannot be deferred. You must reapply for future start dates. You may use your September application to apply to programs beginning in the following January or May. If there is a January or May session, you will need to log into OCAS and change your program choice.
If you are applying to programs beginning in the following September session or later, you will have to wait until the new application cycle opens at OCAS (October 1) and start a new $95 application.

Will or can tuition deposit fees be deferred with COVID-19?
As of today, tuition fee dates and deadlines for the Fall 2020 admissions cycle will remain as listed through our Academic and Important Dates. It is important applicants continue to monitor their MyMohawk email account and the Mohawk College website for further updates.
Will new HOAE test dates be set up for programs that are still open that require them as an admission requirement?
New HOAE test dates for programs which require this additional mandatory requirement will be reviewed later in the Spring. If new test dates are scheduled, applicants will be notified via email on the test dates and will be provided with instructions on how to book a test.
What is the impact on offers of admission, with the current international credential assessment delays?
We are assessing and working through this daily. WES remains a validation service of choice, but they are experiencing a delayed process. Please make sure to have any pertinent documents validated and submitted as early as possible.
I’m in academic upgrading. What if I’m not done in time?
We recognize and understand the current challenges which students are facing due to the temporary closure of schools and facilities within the province and beyond. Students have until the first day of term to fulfill their admission requirements. We will continue to be flexible and do our best to support students through the admissions process.
I have to take the IELTs test. What do I do?
Once the IELTS testing centres re-open, you can move forward with booking your test. You can direct your test results to be sent to Mohawk College. Once received, your results will be loaded into our system to satisfy the requirement.
What if I did not receive an offer?
As of today, we are continuing to move forward with releasing offers of admissions to prospective students. We are eager to have the opportunity to welcome you to Mohawk College in the future. It is important to understand that during this unprecedented time, there may be some delays in processing, however, we are continuing to do our best to move forward with offers. Can I pay my tuition and fees online?
Yes! Tuition fees can be paid online or at your local banking institution. For further details on how you can pay, please visit our Tuition and Fees website.
Can I request my transcript online through Ontario Colleges?
While the College campuses are closed, transcript requests will be received but will not be processed. Any questions regarding transcripts can be sent to ask [at] mohawkcollege.ca. Students are reminded that a print out of your grades can be obtained through MAP (My Academic Progress).
Where do I send an official copy of my transcript?
For any paper copies of transcripts that need to be sent, it is strongly encouraged that they are sent directly to Ontario Colleges at:

How do I request a Mature Applicant Test?
If you require a Mature Applicant Test, this would be requested via an Admission Advisor at the college. The team is happy to support you in this request. Please reach out to coach [at] mohawkcollege.ca indicating your interest in writing a pre-admission test (virtually). It is helpful if your OCAS ID and your Banner ID are included in your email.
I am not comfortable with virtual testing and proctoring, what are my options?
At this time, due to COVID-19, those students whom are either not comfortable or unable to write and have a test proctored virtually will be required to wait until the college reopens to write this test. As of today, there is no definitive timeline on when the college will reopen to pursue this.
How much does a pre-admission test cost? and how do I make payment?
If you are writing one pre-admission test, the cost is $30.00. If you are writing two pre-admissions tests, the cost would be $40.00. The Testing Centre will provide information on how to pay at the time you are confirming your booking.
What do I need to write the Pre-Admission test virtually?
In order to write the pre-admission test virtually, you are required the following:
- Access to a computer or laptop (No tablets or cellphones permitted for testing)
- Stable internet or WIFI
- Quiet space with no disruptions
- Webcam and microphone
