Residence Services

There is designated bicycle storage in Fennell Residence where students can securely lock bicycles. If a student would like to use this space, they can request to have their key programmed by the Front Desk to allow access to this storage area.

Fennell Residence does not have an onsite fitness facility however, Mohawk College students also have access to the state-of-the-art David Braley Athletic Centre on campus to keep them moving and energized during their studies!

The front desk is staffed 24hrs a day and provides residents with one-on-one service to ensure all needs and requests are met. Residents can: pick up packages and mail, inquire about residence activities, or set up appointments with the Residence Life Coordinator. 

Access to certain common spaces and items are required to be signed out from the Residence front desk by providing valid photo-identification. Vacuums and plungers are available for use by signing them out at the front desk.

These are common areas available for use by all residents from 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. daily. (Fridays and Saturdays: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m). Hours of operation are subject to change and may be limited during 'quiet hours' observed during exams.

Garbage and recycling are the responsibility of the student. 

Recycling can be mixed (paper, plastic, glass) in CLEAR bags and brought down to the green metal recycling bin outside the residence. 

Garbage is to be placed in black garbage bags and thrown in the blue trash compactor beside the residence.

Housekeeping service is provided on a bi-weekly basis for each suite.

Housekeepers clean the kitchen and bathroom areas; it is the responsibility of the resident to clean their own bedrooms. 

We ask that residents ensure their kitchen and bathroom floors and counters are cleared for housekeepers to clean these areas.

A pay-per-load laundry room is available on the 1st floor of the Residence. The laundry room is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. 

Residents will receive a Laundry Card upon move-in that can be used to tap and pay to activate the machines ($2.50 per wash cycle, $2.30 per dry cycle).

 The Laundry Card can be reloaded with funds using the machine located in the laundry room.

Mail is delivered on weekdays to the Front Desk and to our Community Mailbox (which must be collected by a manager).

The Residence Front Desk uses a system called Envoy to notify students when they receive mail. If a student receives a notification, they can present a valid photo ID at the Front Desk to receive their mail.

Residents can complete maintenance requests through the Housing Portal should they find any deficiencies in their room. 

Maintenance staff will enter the suite and complete all repairs listed on the maintenance request. Safety protocols are in place for any emergency maintenance issues.

When tending to maintenance requests, authorized residence staff will enter your suite room (usually between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday – Friday unless it is an emergency).

Our 4th floor features a movie lounge complete with a 70" Netflix available TV and authentic theatre seating for 30 guests! The movie lounge has a DVD player and hook ups for all major gaming systems. Additional controllers are available to sign out at the Front Desk.

Residence parking is located in P10 and available by purchasing a parking permit through Mohawk College Parking.
