The Nicole Burgoin Memorial Scholarship

Nicole Burgoin

Like many young students who enter the Office Administration Program at Mohawk College, Nicole had ambitions and dreams.

Nicole was born August 29th, 1973. She was a very shy and quiet girl, however, as she came into her teenage years, her confidence began to blossom. With this new found confidence, Nicole became more active and played the flute in the Westview band, swam, followed hockey and supported her favorite baseball team, the Blue Jays. Always close with her family and friends, Nicole aspired to a rewarding and challenging career in office management.

Tragically, Nicole was killed by a drunk driver on February 27, 1994 at the young age of 20 never being able to fulfill her dreams.

To ensure that Nicole’s memory lives on, her family created the Nicole Burgoin Memorial Scholarship award. This award pays tribute to the special person that Nicole was and all that she strived for as well as to remind everyone of the devastation caused by drinking and driving.
