Celebrate International Women’s Day 2019 at a special lunch hour alumni panel held in conjunction with Mohawk’s Business and Media Graduate Studies, Mohawk College Alumni and the International Department.
The panel members are Mohawk International female alumni who are working in Canada. The panel will be moderated by, Carol Fleck ‘87, Coordinator of the Supply Chain Management graduate program and the International Student Lead for the McKeil School of Business, Media and Entertainment

- Grace Siu - Information Systems Technician '94
Grace Siu, graduated from Mohawk with honours and a Silver Medal when she completed the Information System Technician program in 1994. During her college years Grace gained numerous awards and medals as a Varsity athlete on the Badminton team. For these achievement she was inducted into the Mountaineer Hall of Fame and the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Hall of Fame in the mid-2000s. Since graduating Grace has made tremendous strides in her career. Working in the industry for over 23 years, she has spent the last 15 years as a Senior Project Manager at Kapsch TrafficCom North America, a global leader in providing intelligent transportation systems, like supports for Southern-Ontario’s 407 ETR.
- Rouxanne Irving - Business Accounting '12
Rouxanne Irving graduated from Mohawk with an honours diploma in Business Accounting, and was awarded with The President’s Silver Medal – one of Mohawk’s highest medals of achievement, for her exemplary work on-campus as a student. Working in Mohawk’s International Department since 2012 she has held a variety of position and currently is the Coordinator of International Operations in the International Admission Department. Rouxanne came to Canada in winter 2011 as an international student from Jamaica, where she worked as a business teacher. In her spare time, she likes to explore technology, socialize with friends and volunteer, currently as an executive member of Global Hamilton Connect.
- Alessandra Faria - Broadcasting Television and Communications Media '18
Alessandra graduated with honours from Mohawk’s Broadcasting – Media and Communications program in 2018. Coming to Canada in 2011 with limited abilities to speak English, Alessandra worked hard to improve her skills before enrolling in college a few years later. Having previous experience in the television and film industries she knew making connections was a key to success and worked hard throughout her time at Mohawk to build a network. Alessandra’s experience includes working as a set dresser on some Netflix exclusive programs. To keep connected to her Brazilian roots, Alessandra coordinates a group of over 2,500 members planning events and activities. She created this group to provide the support she needed when she first came to Canada to newcomers.
