Title: The Danger of a Single Story
Link to video: watch TED Talk video
Our world is like a tapestry of many different woven cultures, diversity and overlapping stories. Finding your own authentic voice is something many people strive for in the search for self-awareness. In this Ted Talk, novelist Chimamanda Adichie shares how she found her cultural voice and reminds us that a single story does not define a person or country. We are a collection of experiences and collective voices create a tapestry of the world.
Speaker: Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie
Inspired by Nigerian history and tragedies all but forgotten by recent generations of westerners, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s novels and stories are jewels in the crown of Diasporan literature.
