My barcode doesn't work
Only applicable to students who are placed at HHS or St Joe's clinical sites. Did you complete the confirmation hi/lo test before the due date?
I did the hi/lo test but my code still doesn't work
Did you upload the meter? You may need to do this a couple of times for the information to register in the database.
I don't have a barcode
Did you attend the training? All students receive their barcodes during semester 4 of PN & Level 4 of BScN programs at mandatory training sessions.
I lost my barcode
Contact Barb in CPP to order a reprint. It can take up to 2 weeks to come through.
Where do I do the hi/lo test?
Out on your placement at HHS or St Joe's.
Can I do the hi/lo test at LRC?
No, only at HHS or St Joe's. We are not linked to the hospitals database.
I have the message "operator not on list"
Press continue. Run both levels of quality control, make sure they say PASS. Upload the meter; you may need to do this a couple of times for the information to register in the database.
The machine says my barcode will expire in 2 days. What shall I do?
These messages are a glitch in the system which we are unable to remove/prevent. Please ignore it. Your code will still work.
It's been over 3 months since I used my barcode, what should I do?
As long as you are going to HHS or St Joe's on placement your code will be reactivated automatically usually within the first month of the semester. You will need to perform quality control hi/lo test to confirm it.
In order to remain a certified operator, you must run the quality control material at least once every 3 months.
Operator not on list.
Make sure the meter is removed from the docking station and put back on the charge it. It doesn’t stay charged when it constantly sits on the docking station.
Shut down the computer completely and restart if it hasn’t been shut down recently.
