What is Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program (OBPAP)?

OBPAP provides bursaries to internationally trained professionals with financial need to cover direct educational costs for participants attending non-OSAP approved, current or former Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) funded bridge training programs offered by Ontario colleges and universities.

Am I eligible to receive OBPAP?

OBPAP is only available to students with financial need enrolled in a non-OSAP approved Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) funded bridge programs with direct costs (tuition, books and equipment)

Must be accepted in one of the following Programs for the current academic year:

  • Bridging for Internationally Educated Nurses (BIEN)
  • Bridging for Internationally Educated Medical Laboratory Technologists (IEMLT)

How do I apply?

There are two parts involved with applying for OBPAP.

  • Part 1: Submit an online application:

Can I apply with a paper application?

No. We do not have a paper application available. Our current application process is available through online application only.

What happens if I withdraw?

Students withdrawing from the course(s) of which financial assistance was received are expected to return the funding.
