BridgesEDU Scholarship for Canadian Students

The BridgesEDU $1,000 Scholarship for Canadian Students is designed to help one winning applicant pay for education costs. At BridgesEDU Scholarships, our mission is to help Canadian students graduate with less debt and more career opportunities. So, we’re offering a scholarship open to all Canadian students attending a post-secondary institution in September 2024.

  • Applicant must be enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution (college or university) in September 2024.
  • If you are currently in grade 12, you are eligible for this award provided you will be attending college or university in September 2024.
  • Graduate students are ineligible.
  • International students and mature students are eligible for award provided they meet all other eligibility requirements.

Canada Post – Awards for Indigenous Students

Canada Post gives $2,000 grants to Indigenous Peoples who have renewed their educational learning.

You’re eligible to apply if you:

  • Are a Canadian and a member of a First Nation, Métis or Inuit community
  • Have been out of school for 1 year or more and are returning
  • Have already returned to school and completed 1 full year of studies
  • Have never received this award in the past (you can apply as many times as you want, but you can only receive the award once)

Chaney-Ensign BursaryProvides bursaries to post-secondary students (of any subject) who can demonstrate financial need, and who have graduated from a publicly funded secondary school in Hamilton. Undergrad and postgrad students are eligible.

Application deadlines: October 1 and February 1.
CIBC Commercial Banking and Wealth Management Scholarship for Black and Indigenous Students

Eligibility criteria:

  • Identify as part of one or more of the following groups: First Nations, Métis, Inuit or a member of the Black community
  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada or legally eligible to work in Canada until, and including, August 26, 2024
  • Currently a full-time undergraduate student in the 2023-2024 academic year
  • Be able to participate in and complete a summer internship with CIBC in one of the following business units at a CIBC location: 
    • Commercial Banking 
    • CIBC Private Wealth: Private Banking and Wood Gundy

Consolidated Credit Canada Scholarship ProgramConsolidated Credit is proud to offer a $500 bi-annual scholarship to eligible college and university students who meet the valid requirements. Twice per year, we give students the opportunity to win $500 to put towards their college/university expenses.

Dreamcatcher Charitable FoundationDreamcatcher Charitable Foundation started in 2004 with the vision of listening to and empowering the next generation of Indigenous youth. Dreamcatcher supports health, education, arts & culture, and recreation & sports. They can provide limited funding assistance for youth in indigenous communities to reach their education goals. Status Members Only - Requires 3 references

Future of Play Scholarship

At Spin Master, everyone is welcome in our sandbox. We value differences and are dedicated to building an environment where people feel valued, respected and supported. To support this objective, we are giving students from equity-seeking communities (BIPOC, 2SLGBTQIA+, people with disabilities or women) the opportunity to hone their trade and be a part of the next generation of creators, inventors, designers and entrepreneurs in children's entertainment.

The Garry Douglas Memorial Scholarship

This award is given every fall to an Architectural Technology student in their graduating year.
Who Can Apply:

  • Students in their graduating year of an Architectural Technology related college or university program in Ontario.
  • Minimum 80% GPA.

  • Proof of enrollment at an accredited Ontario post-secondary institution.
  • Proof of 3.0+ GPA.
  • A 500-700 word essay.

Geritol Follies BursaryProvides performing arts bursaries to talented and promising students who can demonstrate financial need, are students of voice, drama, dance, or musical instruments and who have graduated from a publicly funded secondary school in Hamilton or Burlington. Undergrad and postgrad students are eligible.

Grand River Agriculture Society Scholarship Program

The Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS) established the scholarship program to provide financial assistance to students within our community who are entering or enrolled in agriculture and/or environment-related college diploma or university degree programs.

 

1. Student must be a permanent resident within our membership area of Wellington County, Perth County, and the Region of Waterloo.
2. Applicant must be pursuing studies in an agriculture or environment-related program.
3. Applicant must have a proven record of involvement in the school and the community showing interest in the field of agriculture or the environment.

Haywood Hunt & Associates Inc. Annual Scholarship

Eligibility: The student shall be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or other legal standing that allows them to study in Canada. Accepted or enrolled in a Canadian college or university for the 2024/2025 school year.

 

Writing Project: 500-1000 word essay that expresses your top 5 ideas about how “Artificial Intelligence Can Perpetuate Online Fraud and the Best Ways to Combat This Growing Threat”. 

 

Evaluation Criteria: The winning post must be creative, express your ideas and thoughts clearly and concisely and above all impress our judges! Please note, that we employ the most advanced AI detection techniques, so rest assured that anything written or partially written by AI will be immediately rejected.

Investintech - CAJ Data Journalism Scholarship

Open to all students with proven journalism skills and an interest in data journalism. Eligible students must meet the following requirements:

  • Show evidence of their journalism skills and interest, such as having a published news story, or be working for a college publication, etc.
  • Currently accepted to or enrolled in a college or university in Canada.

Jane M. Klausman Women In Business Scholarship

The Jane M. Klausman scholarship works to support women who demonstrate outstanding potential in business-related fields, living or studying in Hamilton area. The scholarship, at the local level, is $1000.00.  The local club award winner application is sent on to Zonta International where a further scholarship of $5000.00 USD is possible.

 

Any women of any age enrolled in at least the 2nd year of a business program up to the final year of a Masters program at an accredited university/college/institute. Must be studying in the Hamilton area.

Kevin Collins Abilities ScholarshipStudents with a disability, who have at minimum of one full semester left in their post-secondary education are eligible to apply for this scholarship. The scholarship will be presented at the annual We Care Gala.

The Kin Canada BursaryKin Canada Bursaries is a program of the Hal Rogers Endowment Fund. $1,000 bursaries are awarded to Canadian students from coast-to-coast who are pursuing post-secondary education.

moneyGenius (formerly HowToSaveMoney) is the product of over 12 years of publishing detailed financial guides for Canadians. We publish our financial product reviews and how to save money guides because financial knowledge should be accessible so you can save money without cutting back on what you love.

The Nora's Nursery Scholarship is open to parents that are current students pursuing a higher education or looking to go back to school that meet the following criteria:

  • You are currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in Canada or the United States at an undergraduate or post graduate degree
  • Are a parent looking to further your education
  • Your education will continue in fall 2023 semester
  • Must be a legal resident of Canada, United states or hold a valid Student Visa

North American Van Lines Logistics ScholarshipNorth American Van Lines is a large moving company and is looking to provide a scholarship to three students who major in logistics, supply chain management, business, or a similar field. Each scholarship is available to current students and to those who are enrolling in college.

Pain Care Clinics Medical Scholarship

Applicants must currently be enrolled in a College or University program related to health care.

  • No plagiarism.
  • Only 1 entry per student.
  • Pain Care Clinics will hold all copyrights of the essays received and they can be used for marketing purposes.
  • Essays must be written in English.
  • Prizes will be awarded via cheque.
  • Open to students who attended a high school in or around the communities we serve: Mississauga, Orangeville, Oakville, Hamilton, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Kitchener, Windsor, Welland, and the surrounding areas of these cities.

There will be nine $500 scholarships awarded in total, one per community mentioned above.  No late submissions will be reviewed.

Winners will be announced on our Social Media platforms by the end of September and contacted directly via email. Winners will have 7 days to respond, or they may be disqualified, and the scholarships will be rewarded to the next runner-up.
The winners must be able to provide valid ID and proof of enrollment in a post-secondary school.
The winners must agree to have their name and photo shared on PCC social media platforms and websites.

Write a 500-700-word essay on one of the following topics:

  • Topic 1. Why I want to work in the medical field.
  • Topic 2. Has the pandemic changed my view on healthcare in Ontario and if so, how?
  • Topic 3. Share a personal story of a loved one who has suffered from chronic pain and how they coped.

Pink Pearl FoundationPink Pearl Canada is a community-oriented charitable organization that provides support, facilitates connections, and empowers young women who are courageously overcoming the social and emotional challenges of being diagnosed with cancer across Canada.

PS752 Commemorative Scholarship Program

To honour the legacies of those who lost their lives in the PS752 flight disaster, Global Affairs Canada will be offering scholarships to Canadian and international college and university students.


A total of 176 scholarships will be awarded over five years beginning the academic year 2023-2024. The average value of each scholarship will be $25,000. A minimum of 70% of the scholarships are to be granted to international students, reflecting the percentage of international on flight PS752. Family members of the victims of flight PS752 will be prioritized. 


Applicants will be asked to outline their reason for applying for the scholarship, their understanding and awareness of the tragedy, why they feel a connection with the victims, and how they will use the scholarship to honour the legacies of victims of flight PS752. Connections could involve a family member, a related field of study (aviation, healthcare), among others.

RBC – Future Launch Scholarship for Indigenous Youth

The RBC Future Launch Scholarship for Indigenous Youth will award 20 scholarships annually valued up to $10,000 each per year (up to 4 years) to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students, between the ages of 15-29 at the time of application, across Canada demonstrating strong academic performance and community involvement.

Rick & Amanda Hansen Scholarship for Youth with Disabilities

The Rick & Amanda Hansen Scholarship aims to make a profound impact on the lives of Canadian youth with disabilities through scholarships of up to $40,000 to pursue post-secondary education, achieve their career aspirations and realize their full potential.

 

About the Scholarships:

  • Minimum of 3 scholarships available for 2024–2025 academic year.
  • Up to $10,000 CAD per year for publicly funded, post-secondary education in Canada directly payable to the academic institution.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be:

  • A person with a disability, defined as a functional limitation – whether permanent or episodic – which affects the student’s ability to participate in post-secondary education.
  • A Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
  • Eligible for domestic tuition at a publicly funded post-secondary institution or training program at a public university, college or institute in Canada.
  • Under the age of 30 years as of the application deadline.
  • Enrolling full-time in the 2024/25 academic year for a 1- to 4-year post-secondary program.
  • Enrolling in a publicly funded Canadian institution.
  • Not receiving other financial awards that total more than $2,500 per year (excluding student loans). The Rick & Amanda Hansen Scholarship cannot be held concurrently with other education-related financial awards exceeding $2,500 in any given year.
  • Responsible for ensuring that any funding received from the Rick & Amanda Hansen Scholarship will not negatively affect the status of any benefits and subsidies that they are eligible for.

Royal Canadian Legion, Ontario Provincial Command Bursary

We offer a bursary to students who are either:

  • Ex-Service personnel or currently serving members of The Canadian Forces(Regular, Reserve, and Merchant Navy) and their spouse, children and grandchildren. Commonwealth war veterans and their spouse, children and grandchildren.
  • Ordinary and Life members of The Royal Canadian Legion and their spouse, children and grandchildren.
  • Associate members of The Royal Canadian Legion and their children only.
  • Ladies’ Auxiliary members and their children and grandchildren.
  • Stepchildren and step grandchildren may be considered where applicable.

Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards

The Live Your Dream Awards offers three levels of cash awards. Eligible applicants can submit their applications between August 1 - November 15. Ultimately, a Live Your Dream Awards finalist has the potential to receive up to $16,000 to help offset tuition costs, purchase books, get transportation, or find reliable childcare so she can worry less about how to pay her bills and focus on reaching her dreams.

You are eligible to apply if you are a woman who:

  • Provides the primary financial support for yourself and your dependents. Dependents can include children, spouse, partner, siblings and/or parents.
  • Has financial need.
  • Is enrolled in or has been accepted to a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program.
  • Is motivated to achieve your education and career goals.
  • Resides in one of Soroptimist International of the Americas’ member countries/territories (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Guam, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Northern Mariana Islands, Palau, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Taiwan, United States of America, Venezuela).
  • Has not previously been the recipient of a Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity or Live Your Dream Award.
  • Does not have a graduate degree.

The Stantec Equity & Diversity ScholarshipWe believe everyone has a right to education, and we are committed to providing people in historically underrepresented and Black, Indigenous, people of colour (BIPOC) groups with financial aid.

The number of scholarships awarded will be based on the specific needs articulated by applicants, and the award values will be a variable range between $1,500 and $10,000. Additionally, there will be 10 paid internships (locations to be confirmed annually) available to applicants.
Storwell Foster Children Bursary Program

To be considered, simply fill out our online application. This is an annual bursary, you may apply at any time. Your application will be put towards the next award. The successful candidate is an active member of their community, has excellent grades, and displays financial need.

  • Applicant must have been a foster child with either CCAS or CAS or a similar official Canadian foster care program and agrees to have the above organization verify the same.
  • Will be enrolled as a full-time student at a recognized post-secondary institution in Canada as of September.
  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Applicant must be 24 years of age or less at the time of application
  • Winner agrees to have his/her name, photo and post-secondary institution displayed on the Storwell website

S.M.A.R.T. Scholarship for Studying Single Moms

Applicants must:

  • be single mothers pursuing a post-secondary education in Ontario, Canada.  
  • not be previous recipients of the S.M.A.R.T. Scholarship.
  • registered with S.W.I.M. This is done by completing the entirety of the scholarship application form.
  • complete S.W.I.M.'s photography release form. This is done by completing the entirety of the scholarship application form.

Take a Pain Check Scholarship

Are you living with a diagnosis of a rheumatic disease? We're offering 1 of 2 scholarships
worth $2,500 to full-time students pursuing greater learning at Canadian universities or
colleges, and those enrolled in trade school educational programs starting in September
2023. We're seeking individuals who have or will triumph over adversity despite the
limitations of living with a disability.


The scholarship will be awarded to students who are:

  • Canadian Residents/Permanent Citizens
  • Diagnosed with a Rheumatic Condition
  • Full-Time Undergraduate/Graduate Students in a Canadian University/College;
    STEM Preference
  • Academic Excellence
  • Making a Difference in the Community

TD – Scholarship for Indigenous PeoplesTD and AFOA Canada built a scholarship for Indigenous Peoples. 25 Scholarships are awarded annually, worth up to $60k over 4 years. 

Regardless of your field of study, scholarships are open to First Nation, Metis and Inuit who are members / citizen of a First Nation, Metis or Inuit community who: have applied for a full-time minimum 2-year program with an approved post-secondary institution for the next year of study; or are enrolled in, or accepted to, a full-time minimum two-year program with an approved post-secondary institution for the next year of study. Employees of TD and its subsidiaries and their children are not eligible for these scholarships

Toronto Insurance Council Scholarship

Selection is focused on commitment to enter the insurance industry, financial need and contribution to school and/or community life.
Academic excellence is not a primary consideration.
Preference will be given to applicants from Black, Indigenous, people of colour (BIPOC), LGBTQ+, people with disabilities, or other historically underrepresented groups.
