The Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program (OBPAP) provides bursaries to internationally trained professionals with financial need to cover direct education costs for participants attending the following programs offered by Ontario colleges and universities:
- Non-OSAP approved training programs
- Current or former Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) funded bridge training programs
The Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program (OBPAP) is only available to students with financial need enrolled in a non-OSAP approved Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) funded bridge programs with direct costs (tuition, books and equipment).
Bursary assistance is only available during the bridge training period for the Bridging for Internationally Educated Nurses (BIEN) program commencing between April 1, 2020 and March 31, 2021.
The deadline to apply for OBPAP funding is March 15, 2021.

Students approved to receive OBPAP funding will be awarded an allotment of funds. To draw on these funds, students are required to apply each semester. Once the funding has been depleted, the student is no longer eligible to receive OBPAP.
