The Application Process

Students wishing to attend Mohawk College from outside Canada have a number of steps to take. Please review our Before You Apply section before you start this section.

Find everything you need to apply to Mohawk College in this section. Even a small error in your application can create delays, so please follow all the steps below and ensure you supply all requested documentation.

1. Choose Your Program

If you have not looked through our Before You Apply section, it is a good idea to do so now. There you will find information on the many programs available to international students.

2. The Application Form

To apply to Mohawk College, please complete and sign the application form.

To avoid delays, include all requested documentation, including:

  • A photocopy of the picture and address pages of your passport
  • Translated and notarized transcripts from your high school (secondary school) and higher education institute (if applicable)
  • Translated and notarized diploma(s)/degree(s) from your high school (secondary school) and/or higher education institute (if applicable)
  • Official IELTS / TOEFL result or English grade 12 credit from a Canadian secondary school (if applicable)
  • If you are applying from outside of Canada,include a non-refundable, $100 CAD application fee (See information on how to pay).
  • If you are applying as an international student from within Canada, a deposit of $1600 CAD is required with your application to hold your seat in the program and to confirm your interest in attending Mohawk College. 
  • All of the above documentation should be collected into one PDF file.

Tip: Many Mohawk programs fill quickly, submit your application early to avoid disappointment. We start accepting applications up to one year before program start date and we begin processing offer letters approximately 6-7 months before.

3. Submit Your Application

Please be sure to review the application deadline information at the bottom of this page.

    • When submitting your application by email please include the following information:
      Subject Line: Application - [Your Start Date] - [Your Country] - [Your Program] - [Your Full Name]
      For Example: Application – September 2018 – China – Zhang Wei
      In the Body of the Email: [Your Full Name], [Your Date of Birth], [Your Program of study]
      For Example: Zhang Wei, June 30, 1999, Business
    • Please ensure all required documents are submitted in one PDF file to the email address shown above.
  • Submit By fax:

Notes

  • It is the applicants' responsibility to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the application and all the documents. Errors may result in delays or rejection of the application.

    4. Application Deadlines

    It is highly recommended that you submit your application as early as possible because the Canada Immigration & Citizenship student visa process can take a long time.

    The deadlines to submit applications for applicants who are NOT already in Canada are:

    • September (Fall) Intake: June 15th
    • January (Winter) Intake: November 15th
    • May (Spring) Intake: March 15th


    Applicants who are already in Canada can apply up until the start of classes but should still apply as early as possible to guarantee a seat in their program of choice.

    5. After You Apply

    Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by Mohawk College and you will be notified if you have been accepted, OR accepted with conditions, OR if the program you have selected is full.

    Applicants may be asked to take a math, writing or English language test to ensure your level is appropriate to succeed in the program you have applied for before acceptance can be granted.
