LINC Youth - Photography Project

Are you 18-25 years old? Do you have English at level 2 to 3?

Learn English and other essential skills while developing photography projects!

The program prepares you with the skills you need to move into the Video Project class or other higher level LINC classes that lead into post-secondary admission at Mohawk College.

Program details

  • Improve your listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.
  • Learn how to take good photos and use them to tell a story.
  • Create a digital portfolio of your work.
  • Access to counselling to assist with learning and career planning.

LINC Youth - Video Project

Are you 18-25 years old? Do you have English at level 4 to 6?

Improve your  English and other essential skills for post-secondary education and the workplace.

LINC Youth Video leads to higher level LINC classes that meet the English requirement for post-secondary admission at Mohawk College.

Program details

  • Improve your listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.
  • Develop online skills for today's changing academic and workplace environment.
  • Learn to create short video projects.
  • Access to counselling to assist with learning and career planning.

Student eligibility

  • Permanent residents of Canada or protected persons (with Notice of Decision) ages 18 to 25 years old.
  • With valid proof of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) assessment.
    • Don't have proof of CLB assessment? Contact YMCA Immigrant Services to book an appointment to take the assessment. YMCA's phone number is (905) 662-9400 or (905) 526-8452
    • The assessment has no cost for permanent residents and protected persons.

Technology required

During this time of COVID-19 all our programs and courses are delivered in an online format. This means that you will be managing technology. You will need to have access to:

  • A high-speed internet connection.
  • A computer or laptop with a camera, microphone, and sound.
  • A comfortable place where you can interact with your classmates and teachers. This will help you to learn better and faster!
