983: Applied Music (Classical Voice) In-person Audition Requirements

Overview

Your audition is made up of 4 parts:

  1. Performance audition

  1. Theory test

  1. Ear-training test

  1. Question-and-Answer session

We will notify you of your performance audition time alongside a window of time for you to do your theory test in advance. Depending on the time of your audition, you may be asked to do your theory test before or after your performance audition. Your ear-training test will be done at the same time as your performance audition. After completing the performance, theory test and ear-training test, a faculty member will meet with you to discuss your audition, test results and your future goals in music.

1. Performance

Please perform the following:

  1. Two contrasting pieces:

    1. The contrasting pieces should show your stylistic interests and technical ability.

    2. At least one of the pieces should be in a non-English language.

    3. We do not specify a level for the pieces, though we typically expect a minimum grade 6 or 7 Royal Conservatory technical level.

It is also your opportunity to ask us questions about the program and what you will be studying.
