Step 1 - I have received a ministry offer of Classroom Training

  1. Apprenticeship payment and registration
  2. Employment Insurance (E.I.)
    • Eligible recipients in Block classes will receive a 16 digit code which will be mailed to you by the Ministry upon payment.  More information can be found on the Government of Canada website.

Step 2 - I have registered and paid - what are my next steps?

  1. Get Ready for Training Night
    • Drop in and set up your parking, MyMohawk and ONE Card early
    • Take a tour of the campus
    • Get questions answered by staff members
  2. First day orientation - 8:30 am
  3. Parking
    • A valid parking pass is required to park on campus - view parking information
    • Pay at our on-campus bookstore
  4. Apprenticeship grants and financial allowances
    • View available grants
    • Financial Allowances: Eligibility determined by the Ministry during the first week of training
  5. What's next?

Step 3 - I am currently attending training

  1. Purchase your books
    • Costs vary by trade and class
    • Instructors will confirm textbook purchase
  2. Ensure you have the required equipment as it relates to your trade. Some examples include:
    • CSA clear safety glasses
    • CSA steel toe boots
    • Basic hand tools
  3. Apply for course exemptions
    • Visit The Square registration desk for more details
  4. Utilize Student Life supports including:

Step 4 - I have completed my training

  1. Complete your apprenticeship
  2. Book and prepare your certification exam
  3. Need employment supports?
  4. Attend your convocation ceremony
  5. Get your official Transcript
