Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program

The Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program (OBPAP) provides bursaries to internationally trained professionals with financial need to cover direct education costs for participants attending the following programs offered by Ontario colleges and universities:

  • Non-OSAP approved training programs
  • Current or former Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) funded bridge training programs 

OBPAP Application

The Ontario Bridging Participant Assistance Program (OBPAP) is only available to students with financial need enrolled in a non-OSAP approved Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration (MCI) funded bridge programs with direct costs (tuition, books and equipment).

Bursary assistance is only available during the bridge training period for eligible program commencing between April 1, 2018 and March 31, 2019.

The deadline to apply for OBPAP funding is March 17, 2019.

To participate in this program, you must be accepted in one of the following Programs for the current academic year:

Bridging for Internationally Educated Nurses (BIEN)

Bridging for Internationally Educated Medical Laboratory Technologists (IEMLT)

    Students approved to receive OBPAP funding will be awarded an allotment of funds. To draw on these funds, students are required to apply each semester. Once the funding has been depleted, the student is no longer eligible to receive OBPAP.
