Youth have the opportunity to explore postsecondary pathways through Early College Initiatives options, Deaf(ening/end) adults can upgrade their skills in the Deaf Empowerment Program and there are English and work-related classes available through Programs for Newcomers.

Mohawk College brings years of experience combining secondary and college curriculum. In partnership with local district school boards and the School College Work Initiative, Mohawk College is proud to offer a wide variety of dual credit opportunities.

Upgrading at Mohawk
Mohawk College’s free Academic Upgrading Deaf Empowerment Program (AU DEP) offers Deaf(ening/end) adults the opportunity to upgrade their skills in math, reading and writing as well as basic computer and employability skills.

Academic Upgrading:
The Adult Basic Education Association (ABEA) is Hamilton’s local learning network. This means that we refer you to adult education programs in the city. We don’t provide classes or programs, but you can contact us if you need
- to complete your high school diploma or equivalency
- a prerequisite to get into an apprenticeship or post-secondary program
- to work on your reading, writing, math and digital skills
