Primary duties

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Plant Supervisor - Floater will support various CBM Ready Mix operations in the West Region in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. This role requires extensive daily travel within the region, and occasional overnight travel.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Supervise unionized hourly workforce and maintain a high level of employee morale at the plant.
  • Support the labour relations process through administering the collective bargaining agreement and managing grievances and appropriate discipline.
  • Dispatch and load concrete trucks. Manage timing and delivery to customer sites.
  • Complete paperwork, data entry, quality testing and reporting as needed.
  • Comply with Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Environment legislation and regulations. Implements training, administration and compliance with applicable Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the Sales Representative and Technical Services to meet the customers' needs and specifications.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Two years post-secondary education or equivalent experience in a similar industry.
  • New graduates are also considered.
  • People management, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge of computer software (Windows, Word, Excel).
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Valid driver's license and clear 3-year drivers abstract.
  • Ability to travel within the region regularly, including occasional overnights.
