Accessing the Health Care Job Market in Ontario - Online Course

Do you have education or work experience in the Health Care field?

This practical and innovative FREE online course offered to qualified new Canadian immigrants addresses the language and communication skills needed to introduce yourself professionally in the job search context, describe requirements for working in your chosen occupation in Ontario and develop a Job Action Plan for securing employment within your field. 

 

This 40-hour online course will help you to:

  • Improve your communication skills for the health care sector
  • Learn about market trends, occupational requirements and pathways to work in your field
  • Increase your confidence when describing your skills and work experience in job interviews
  • Assess your employability and develop a Job Action Plan for securing employment in your occupation

This innovative course is for you if:

  • You have education or work experience in one of the following health care occupations:
    • dental hygienist
    • dietitian
    • medical laboratory technologist
    • medical radiation technologist
    • nurse
    • occupational therapist
    • personal support worker
    • physiotherapist
    • sleep technologist
    • social worker
  • You are a permanent resident of Canada or a protected person (with Notice of Decision) 
  • You have English at an intermediate level (Canadian Language Benchmark 6 to 8)
  • You are comfortable with using computers for learning and have access to a computer with video and audio capabilities as well as an Internet connection

When:

  • From January 14 to February 22, 2019
  • Participate in one scheduled online meeting per week and complete weekly assignments
