Scot graduated from the Advertising program of Mohawk College in 1992. Earlier on in his career, he worked at some of the top agencies in the country including DDB Canada and Lowe Roche. He's won over 500 creativity and effectiveness awards including Cannes Lions, One Show Pencils, D&AD Pencils, Clios, Cassies, CMA's and Marketing Awards.

In 2002, Scot instigated Hockey Canada's, "Relax, it's just a game" campaign to combat bad hockey parent behaviour and it won every major award in the world. The campaign generated a firestorm of international media coverage and it grabbed the attention of Oprah Winfrey, who dedicated an entire show to the issue of bad parent behaviour in youth sports.

In 2013, Scot co-founded One Twenty Three West and is the Chief Executive Officer. Their, "Low Overhead, High Talent" business model has been very successful and they have worked with clients such as lululemon, MEC, Destination BC, White Spot Restaurants, Save-On-Food, CAA, Muskoka Brewery, Okanagan Spring Brewery and Tim Hortons. The agency has been short-listed as Canada's Agency of the Year on multiple occasions and Scot has been a keynote speaker at the Cannes Festival of Creativity two times to tell their unique business story.

Scot has been named of one of the next generation of Marketing icons by Strategy Magazine and was profiled as one of Mohawk Colleges Top 40 graduates of all time during their 40th Anniversary celebration.

When he's not working, Scot is an outdoor enthusiast exploring British Columbia's beautiful mountains, glaciers, ice caves and lakes.
