Debbie Logel Butler has enjoyed many successes in her career, leading up to her current role as the Executive Director of the Cancer Assistance Program.  With over 30 years raising funds in healthcare, education and social services including the YWCA Hamilton, Ronald McDonald House Hamilton where the 2010 expansion campaign exceeded its $5 million fundraising goal by over $1 million within one year of its launch. She has been responsible for the revitalization of St. Peter’s Foundation fundraising activities and in her role as Executive Director, Advancement & Alumni, Debbie lead Mohawk College’s first-ever “Shape the Future” capital campaign surpassing the fundraising goal by half a million dollars. As a Fundraising and Communications professional Debbie knows the importance of volunteering in the community in which you live and work having been involved with many committees including the Hamilton Gallery of Distinction as a selection committee member, the Association For Healthcare Philanthropy and has been involved with multiple Mohawk Program Advisory Committees including the Alumni of Distinction selection committee.  Since 2017,Debbie has been a member of the Board of Directors at Compass Community Health Centre ( formerly North Hamilton Community Health Centre)and is strong advocate of accessible healthcare for all members of our community.

Mladen Ivankovic, C.E.T. ‘18 didn’t have the easiest journey to his education. “We came to Canada as refugees in 1994,” he says. “It was just my two parents, my sister, and I. My parents came here with 80 Deutschmarks (approximately $67 CDN at the time) and we [arrived in] Quebec to restart our lives.”
