Chief Operating Officer, Good Shepherd Centres Hamilton

Katherine Kalinowski is a dedicated advocate for vulnerable and marginalized people, and a senior leader of Hamilton’s largest social services provider.

Katherine credits her time at Mohawk for nurturing and focusing her passion to be of help and service to those in need. Shortly after graduating, she joined Hamilton’s Good Shepherd Centres as a frontline advocate for women and children experiencing abuse.

Early in her career, Katherine was instrumental in the development and implementation of several new programs, including the Woman Abuse Support Program, SAGE Family Camp Program, and Mary’s Place, the first shelter in Hamilton for homeless single women.

Now as chief operating officer, Katherine has helped transform Hamilton’s emergency housing and social services through her many years of serving tirelessly on working groups, committees, and advisory boards including chairing the Women’s Housing Planning Collaborative in Hamilton.
