Pamela Ross graduated from the Recreation & Leisure Services program, therapeutic stream, at Mohawk College and has utilized her education in a variety of ways to benefit the community and numerous lives in society.

While attending college, Pam gained valuable training in her co-op placements while working with youth at-risk at Living Rock Ministries, and as a Recreation Therapist student at St Joseph’s healthcare in Hamilton.

After graduation, Pam landed a job working with seniors as a Lifestyle Enrichment Coordinator where she was able to enhance the quality of lives. She also accepted a position and gained community recognition working with youth at-risk as an Evening Program Coordinator at Living Rock Ministries, motivating them to have meaning and purpose. Pam worked alongside National Crime Prevention, part of a gang prevention strategy and took part by implementing programs and services to engage youth to have positive pursuits during the evening. She was also involved with leading a camp trip to Algonquin Park with Hamilton police officers and youth at-risk as part of a peace building initiative. Pam did advocacy work for youth to have a voice when she nominated a youth who was a member from an evaluation committee - they won an award at Queen's Park for their amazing contribution.

Pam went on to work in long term care during the covid-19 pandemic and led programs and services in human services to ensure seniors have recreation opportunities and pursuits. Pam is grateful for the education and great experiences, and continues to encourage healthy holistic lifestyles for optimal wellbeing throughout her career.
