Fetal and Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer, Your Kids Heart

Carlos Barrios is an accomplished sonographer with an unwavering commitment to advancing his field and educating new professionals.

Carlos was studying medicine when he and his parents decided to move to Canada. He went to school to learn English while working full time and completed a university degree in psychology before enrolling at Mohawk College.

Throughout his career, Carlos has worked as a pediatric cardiac sonographer, clinical manager, educator, and clinical instructor in hospitals, educational institutions, and the private health care industry. He credits his college diploma for both his technical and communication skills and attention to detail that he uses each day.

He has made many contributions to his field as an educator and a researcher, including training sonographers, students, doctors, and nurses from around the world to improve cardiac diagnostics abroad and helping internationally trained health care professionals earn their sonography license in Canada.

Carlos earned a master’s degree in medical ultrasound and will soon begin a PhD program.
