Executive Director, Hamilton Community Legal Clinic

Clare Freeman has dedicated her career to improving the lives of the most vulnerable as a passionate leader and advocate in the social service sector.  

After working as a trauma counsellor, Clare went on to teach at Mohawk College and has led key non-profit organizations in Hamilton including Dr. Bob Kemp Hospice and Interval House, a domestic violence shelter. She now serves as executive director of Hamilton Community Legal Clinic.  

Clare has received awards in recognition of her community leadership and commitment to social justice issues. She has made lasting contributions through research and by serving on local, provincial and national boards and committees. Clare also volunteers her time as president of the Rotary Club of Hamilton AM.   

In addition to her diploma from Mohawk, Clare holds a bachelor of arts and a master’s of social work.
