Rachel Brown
Program Coordinator, Disability Specialist, McMaster University
Rachel Brown is a life-long learner and tireless advocate for accessibility and inclusion in education. Her innovative work in developing accessible programs, materials and supports has received recognition from the disability community.
Throughout her 20-year career in the UK and Canada, she has specialized in teaching, curriculum design, adaptive technology, digital accessibility and mental health. As program coordinator, disability specialist at McMaster University, Rachel provides academic accommodations as well as training and support for accessibility practices across the university. Her volunteer work includes serving as an accessibility advisor on municipal committees, hospital patient advisor and youth mentor.
Rachel’s academic achievements are extensive. In addition to her two credentials from Mohawk College, Rachel holds a diploma in early childhood education and teaching, a bachelor of science degree in psychology, a post-graduate certificate in education and a masters of education.
