I have a Master of Library Science from the University of Toronto and a BA from Principia College in Elsah, IL.

I have been teaching in the Library and Information Technician Diploma at Mohawk for more than 30 years, first teaching an Interlibrary loan segment of an in-person customer service course, and more recently the online acquisitions course.

I have been fortunate enough to work my entire career at McMaster University Library, with my 37th anniversary just around the corner. I was hired as McMaster’s first online-searcher in combination with reference duties, then took on interlibrary loan for 15 years. I moved from public services to technical services to become the Acquisitions Librarian, then Collections and Serials Librarian, then added e-Resources when these came on the scene. I moved on to become the Associate University Librarian for Collections, then moved back to public services to become the Associate University Librarian for Services and Facilities, which is my current position. This position oversees the services offered through three campus libraries, as well as oversight of the buildings and associated renovations of the spaces in these buildings.

Having been at McMaster for such a long time has given me the opportunity to become involved in other parts of the University’s operations as well - for example I chair both the McMaster Copyright Working Group and the McMaster Accessibility Council.
