I am the Managing Director of the Carbon to Metal Coating Institute, at Queen's University. I started my research career as an analytical chemist with the Laboratory of the Government Chemist in UK, and I have over 25 years of experience in research management and administration in higher education. My expertise includes developing national and international research centres and institutes, implementing strategic and operational plans, building strategic collaborations to support knowledge mobilization, negotiating research agreements, finance management and reporting, and clinical trials administration. I am also a mixed method researcher who has conducting evaluations in healthcare and research administration. Currently, I am on the CARA Career Task Force, where I have completed a study evaluating the role and professional development needs of Research Managers and Administrators across Canada.
