Bridging to Educational Support Diploma program for Educational Assistant Apprentices
Thank you for your interest in bridging from the Educational Assistant Apprenticeship Certificate to the Educational Support Diploma Program. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must submit an official Ontario Secondary School transcript (OSSD) confirming completion of Grade 12 English or equivalent AND proof of completion of the Educational Assistant Apprenticeship program OR proof of current enrollment in the Educational Assistant Apprenticeship program.
One Reference Letter detailing your involvement in a school site. It must be on school letterhead and signed by the Principal and/or Teacher at that site. The letter should briefly describe your responsibilities and be supportive of your application into the program.
Basic computer skills (e.g., word processing, data management, internet navigation). Students should be familiar with computers and email-based systems prior to considering an online-based program. Internet access is necessary for online course delivery.
Applicants must provide proof of completion of the EA Apprenticeship program (copy of Certificate of Apprenticeship) along with the successful completion of the following courses to receive an Educational Support diploma:
- COMM11000 Essential Communication Skills
- MATH10065 Math in an Educational Setting
- EDUC10116 Inclusion & Diversity
- EDUC10004 Learning Strategies
- EDUC10001 Autism Spectrum Disorder
- COMP10006 Adaptive and Assistive Technology
- EDUC10037 Transition Planning
- EDUC10109 Total Communication
- General Education Elective Credit
- General Education Elective Credit
- General Education Elective Credit
APPLICATION (online form):
Application for the bridging to Educational Support Diploma program for Educational Assistant Apprentices will be completed via this online form. All parts must be completed and all supporting documentation included. This information will be kept confidential. To apply, complete the following steps:
- Submit online application
- Attach photocopies of your certificate/diploma/transcript
- Attach your Reference Letter
- Complete all sections thoroughly
IMPORTANT APPLICATION DATES:
Applicants are accepted into this program three times per year.
- Fall (September intake) – Applications must be received by August 1
** Applications for Fall 2024 must be received by September 2, 2024. - Winter (January intake) – Applications must be received by December 1
- Spring (May intake) – Applications must be received by April 1
