Study Permit: Extending your permit
If you plan to continue your studies in Canada, you may need to extend your Study Permit to maintain your student status. You may need to apply for an extension if your permit will expire before completing your program or if your study plans change.
We recommend at least 90 days in advance.
- Students whose study permit will be expiring are recommended to review the immigration Extend Study permit webpage for the processing times.
- You can only extend your study permit if you are physically inside Canada.
