International Student Services and Mohawk College know that finding new friends can be difficult. Living on campus or in a homestay offers you the chance to learn about Canadian culture and make new friends. Learn about your various options below:

Living in a Homestay

The Homestay program allows our international visa students a chance to live with a Canadian family. This offers several benefits:

  • Make new friends easily
  • Learn casual English as it is used in day-to-day life
  • Witness and experience Canadian culture first hand

To arrange a Homestay, please contact Canada Homestay Network (opens new window)

Check out the Canada Homestay Network's Student Guide (Opens to PDF) to learn more about preparing for a Homestay accommodation.

On Campus Housing (Residence)

Mohawk College Residence is awarded to International students by lottery because of the demand, so apply before May 15th for September accommodation. Visit the residence web site (opens in a new tab) to make arrangements and to print off a residence application form. There are a number of rooms set aside for international students - apply early.

Off Campus Housing

Our Student Engagement office receives calls everyday from landlords who wish to host students in their rental accommodations. Student Engagement provides off-campus housing information for students who wish to find their own accommodation.
