SIGMA 2025

SIGMA at Mohawk College

SIGMA at Mohawk College is a competition for high school students keen on exploring practical applications of mathematics and statistics across various interdisciplinary fields such as business, engineering, aviation, health sciences, arts and many more.

Students are invited to attend a one-day event on May 13th, 2025 at Mohawk College, Fennell Campus, 135 Fennell Avenue West, Hamilton.

  • Who: Grade 10, 11 and 12 High School Students (teams of 2 students)
  • Registration deadline: Monday, May 12th, 2025, 11:59pm

Competition Rules

Only students registered in (or have completed in semester one) the Applied/College Math courses below are eligible to compete - only one team of 2 students per course from the same school.

  • Grade 10: MFM2P
  • Grade 11: MBF3C/MCF3M and
  • Grade 12: MCT4C/MAP4C 

Competitors will participate in Part A – working as a team of two on long answers application problems and in Part B – working individually on short answer mathematics and statistics questions.
