Eligibility

Academic eligibility requirements will be shared prior to students applying to the co-op stream.

Driver’s License and Vehicle

Please note that the majority of co-op positions for this program require that students have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle, as many locations are not on a bus route. Many co-op positions may require students to commute outside of Hamilton.

Co-op Designation

This program offers three co-op work term opportunities but requires two completed co-op work terms for the co-op designation.

Work Term Capabilities

  • Assist with updating job descriptions
  • Contribute to the recruitment process:
    • Create job posting
    • Screen resumes
    • Schedule interviews
    • Complete background checks
  • Create new-hire packages
  • Support with new employee onboarding and orientation, including set up and facilitation
  • Track and update employee information within human resource information systems
  • Assist with employee training initiative and the development of training programs
  • Support in the organization of employee recognition programs and other organizational development programs
  • Assist with developing and/or updating internal HR procedures, processes, and workflows
  • Conduct research related to Human Resources initiatives
  • Assist with payroll administration
  • Respond to telephone, e-mail, and in-person inquiries from management, employees and job applicants
