Start with a College Diploma, Finish with a University Degree

Graduates of Mohawk's Business Administration Advanced Diploma (opens new window) with a weighted grade point average (GPA) of 77% (B+) are eligible to apply for the McMaster Bachelor of Commerce (opens new window) through the DeGroote School of Business (opens new window). Completion of MDM4U, MHF4U, MCV4U, or recognized equivalents, is required. Eligible graduates will receive 60 credits towards the degree and must complete an additional 60 credits as specified by McMaster.

Graduates of Mohawk's two-year General Arts & Science (opens new window) Diploma (who maintain a cumulative GPA of 75%) are eligible to apply for McMaster University's College Transfer Pathways through the Faculty of Social Sciences (opens new window) and Faculty of Humanities (opens new window). Eligible graduates will receive transfer credit toward their Bachelor of Arts (Honours), and qualify to fast-track the completion of their university degree.

Addiction Education Programs (opens new window)

The Addiction Education Programs provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills for working with people with addictions. The format of the program is designed to be flexible with continual intake and both lecture and distance formats.

McMaster CCE has assessed the following Mohawk College programs and determined transfer credit for graduates:

  • Child and Youth Worker Diploma
  • Counselling Techniques Certificate
  • Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant
  • Personal Support Worker Diploma
  • Social Service Worker Diploma
  • RN/RPN - Mental Health Nursing Certificate

The Addiction Studies Certificate accepts up to one transfer, while the Addiction Careworker Diploma accepts a maximum of four transfers.

College Pathways for General Arts & Science (opens new window)

University of Toronto Mississauga actively builds and maintains relationships with other higher education institutions to simplify the process of transferring to university.

Students who successfully complete the General Arts & Science (GAS) diploma programs intended for university transfer may apply for advanced standing at U of T Mississauga in an Arts stream (Humanities, Social Sciences, Communication & Culture, or Visual Studies).

In order to gain admission to UTM, the following requirements must be met:

  • Completion of a two-year (four-semester) GAS program
  • Final cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (roughly 73%)
  • Successful completion of pre-requisite courses (if listed, other than English) with strong grades

In order to obtain advanced placement (transfer credits) towards your academic history at UTM, the following requirements must be met:

  • An appropriate combination of courses (see agreement)
  • A minimum of 60% in each transferable courses (listed in the appendix of the agreement below)

Recreation and Leisure Studies (opens new window)

Recreation and Leisure Studies at Waterloo is one of the most established programs of its kind in Canada, and the first to offer the co-op system of education. You'll benefit from learning in a department that has been educating recreation professionals for over 40 years.

Diploma to Degree Pathway in Environmental Science (opens new window)

Western's Environmental Science program offers an interdisciplinary approach to studying and solving environmental problems. In our program, you can choose courses from science, engineering, social science, arts and humanities, including field courses.

The Pathways program provides students with the opportunity to transfer credits earned in a college diploma program towards the completion of an Environmental Science degree at Western University. You can complete a degree in as little as 12 months (full time) and be one step closer to an exciting career in Environmental Science! The Pathways program was created for students that have graduated from specific Ontario Colleges with a Diploma from 3-year Environmental Technology or 2-year Environmental Technician programs and would like to continue their studies at Western University.

Wilfrid Laurier University - Brantford & Waterloo

Mohawk-Laurier Pre-Health Articulation Agreement (opens new window)

The Pre-Health Articulation Agreement aims to grant admission for graduates from Mohawk's Pre-Health Certificate to Laurier's Bachelor of Arts & Science in Health Studies (BASc), at our Brantford campus. The articulation requires an overall B+ (75%) average and a 75% in the math courses. In addition, students will be granted 2.5 transfer credits towards the BASc program.

College Pathways (opens new window)

Students who have completed select diplomas at an Ontario college, and meet the minimum requirements, will automatically receive the following transfer credits if granted admission to the following programs. Students who do not meet pathway criteria (meaning those with an overall average of 70-74.9%) will be evaluated for transfer credits on a case-by-case basis.

Advanced Summer Acceleration Program (ASAP) (opens new window)
The ASAP is a purpose-designed pathway for college students, from two-year or three-year diploma programs, going into Bachelor of Arts programs at the Brantford campus. It allows you to start your degree one semester earlier in the summer and, with continuous study, you will complete a four-year Honours degree in only two calendar years.

Athabasca University - Athabasca, Alberta

Complete your degree by taking courses on a part-time basis through Athabasca University (AU), Canada's largest provider of university-level online and distance learning.

There are no classes to attend, so you can complete your degree:

  • without leaving your workplace or community;
  • at your own pace;
  • with access to a tutor who is a subject matter expert.

Courses start the first day of every month, with six (6) months to complete a three-credit course, and 12 months for a six-credit course.

The actual number of credits required to complete the degree will depend on your college credential, college coursework and other learning. Your college grades are not taken into account (as long as you passed the course).

University of Frederiction - Frederiction, New Brunswick

As a result of a partnership between Mohawk College, the University of Fredericton (opens new window) and Husson University of Maine (opens new window), students holding a specified business or justice and wellness studies diploma from Mohawk can now take advantage of a career enhancing opportunity to transfer their credits and apply them toward a Bachelor's Degree from Husson University of Maine.

Students may enroll in the unique Diploma-to-Degree Program, completely online. Students may transfer their credits to Husson University and complete a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business (B.Sc. Business Administration) (opens new window), or a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice (B.Sc. Criminal Justice) (opens new window).

Mohawk College Diploma + 10 Courses* = Bachelor's Degree

Students will be able to complete the program from any location with access to the Internet, by taking as few as 10 eight-week courses. *There may be additional requirements for some programs.

Berklee College of Music has established agreements with a number of institutions with contemporary music programs whose course offerings are similar to those offered by Berklee. All students are required to complete four semesters of attendance and a minimum of 60 credits for the degree and 48 credits for the diploma at Berklee in order to graduate from the college.

A two or three-year Mohawk College diploma is your ticket to completing a bachelor's degree at Davenport University (opens new window). Credits transfer easily. In fact, most graduates with a 3-year diploma complete a degree with just 10 DU classes (30 credit hours). Online studies available.

The transfer articulation agreement focuses on the detailed conditions for accepting students (with specific degrees and GPAs) and transferring their completed Mohawk College diplomas into specific Davenport University majors.

Mohawk College and Niagara University, College of Business of Administration (opens new window) have established a Dual Admission Degree Program Agreement (2 + 2) in selected programs. Upon completion of the designated diploma programs at Mohawk, students may continue their studies at Niagara with the assurance that they may complete all the requirements for a corresponding baccalaureate degree in two additional years. An additional elective course(s) may be necessary depending on the degree program and/or the specific transfer course equivalencies. Exceptions may apply.

Technological Higher Education Association (THEA) - Ireland
