Learning Outcomes

Program Learning Outcomes, often referred to as ‘Program Standards', set out the essential learning that a student must achieve before being deemed ready to graduate.

In many cases these program learning outcomes were developed by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU) in consultation with employers and educators who are experts in the program field. To ensure the outcomes remain current and in line with industry needs, we invite our employers, graduates working in the field and current students to re-examine and update them during regular, ongoing program review focus groups.

John, Business Marketing Graduate 2013

"I am truly thankful for my time at Mohawk College in the Business Marketing program; it has provided me both with an abundance of knowledge and great memories. I entered the program with limited to no knowledge about Marketing and the marketplace. But thanks to a comprehensive and structured course which is taught by highly skilled lecturers, who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge from within the industry, I now feel job ready with the knowledge and skill set I have acquired through the program. As an international student, Mohawk College provided me with all the help and support I needed during my time here, and both the International department and my program lecturers went above and beyond to guide me through my time at the college. My decision to attend Mohawk College and the Business Marketing program is one I am extremely glad I made, I have met some amazing people both students and lecturers, and have gained more knowledge than I ever thought possible. I highly recommend both the College and the Business Marketing program to anyone interested in marketing. I am proud to have been a Mountaineer."

Eduardo

“I am very thankful for everything that Mohawk College has provided me through its Business Marketing program. Because of the well-structured program and highly-qualified Professors, I was able to refine my skills and acquire knowledge about Marketing, Business Administration and the marketplace. My learning experience did not stop at the classroom or after exams: during my study period I was given the opportunity to compete at the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition, which enhanced my presentation skills and my ability to work under pressure. Also, as an international student, Mohawk College welcomed me and provided me with all the support I needed to settle successfully in Canada. My positive experience at Mohawk College continues as now I am Mohawk Students’ Association Social Media Community Coordinator, a job I would not have gotten had I chosen a different program or college. I highly recommend Mohawk College’s Business Marketing program to anyone, inside or outside of Canada, interested in Marketing.”

The information taught and the case studies used are always relevant and up-to-date. The professors in the program teach with a wealth of knowledge and experience. Their passion for marketing provides an encouraging environment for learning and professional development. Mohawk College offers many opportunities for students to put the skills they learn in the classroom to practical use. This includes participating in OCMC (Ontario College’s Marketing Competition) and the Vanier National BDC Case Competition. Students can also gain real world experience by working with Mohawk’s Agency, where students work for real clients."

Madelaine

"My experience at Mohawk provided me with the foundation of knowledge and the hands-on skills I needed to be successful in the work place. The marketing program used a practical approach that enabled students to participate in real life case studies to develop professional writing and presentation skills for live audiences. Above all the professors taught from experience with passion and genuine commitment to the students and were always supportive, positive and accessible. Mohawk provided multiple networking opportunities within the program and at community events such as OCMC (Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition) and the Vanier Case Competition hosted in Montreal. After graduating I feel job-ready and confident with my marketing abilities. I have and will continue to recommend the Business Marketing program at Mohawk College to anybody seeking to develop applicable marketing skills, a wide network of social contacts and a professional portfolio to wow prospective employers!"
