Claudia is a proud graduate of the former Diploma Nurse program at Mohawk College. She worked for many years in the surgical and pediatric programs at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington. In her last 10 years at the hospital, her role was Charge Nurse of day surgery and an inpatient surgical unit.
During that time, Claudia continued her education at Brock University. She also attended the Dorothy Wylie Nursing Leadership Institute. And she completed an online program for Infection Prevention and Control at Queen’s University. She did a secondment in Infection Prevention and Control at the hospital. She took a leave of absence to work in Public Health for the Region of Halton. She wanted to learn more about the nursing role in health promotion and illness prevention.
Claudia is now in her fourteenth year teaching in the Practical Nursing program at Mohawk College.
