Shannon is a graduate of Mohawk College’s Early Childhood Education diploma. A strong advocate within the Indigenous community and dedicated to the healing and wellness for individuals, families, and communities. Shannon has 20 years of experience in the community providing leadership development, advocacy, human resource management strategies and capacity building within Indigenous and mainstream services. Shannon has vast knowledge of social services with focus on Indigenous homelessness through the life cycle. Over the past ten years, Shannon has had many opportunities to engage in capacity building for the Not-for-Profit Sector and new projects at local and provincial levels, such as Best Start, Endaayaang; Housing First for Youth, Manager for Honouring the Circle transitional housing for women and most recently Ontario Indigenous Centre of Excellence for Early Years and Child Care.

Shannon is committed to taking an approach of reciprocity in her community work and contributes to many initiatives local, provincial and national to bring awareness to Indigenous worldviews and communities.
