Sheva was born and raised in India. Her family runs a boarding school for children from low income areas. They also have a farm. She is bilingual with Hindi and English.
Sheva completed her Child and Youth Care education at Humber College. She graduated with honors. Sheva has a variety of experience in the mental health field. She has worked in the international and local mental health field. She has worked in:
- public schools
- international boarding schools
- drop-in centres
- mental health residential care facilities
Sheva was the recipient of the the Krista Sepp Horizon Award in 2011. She is a licensed Applied Suicide and Intervention Skills (ASIST) and safeTALK trainer. She is passionate about education. She sees her educational role as a 'facilitator' of knowledge. She recognizes that her role is not limited to transmitting knowledge. She also creates environments where active engagement and contribution are of value. This environment can enrich the learning experience for all.
