General Education Elective Special Authorization
The General Education Elective Special Authorization Form for Fall 2026 will be available the week of August 3, 2026.
This form is for students enrolled in a full-time postsecondary program who require assistance or authorization to register in a General Education elective due to one of the following circumstances:
- You are supposed to take a required General Education elective this semester, but the available options are full or conflict with another course in your timetable.
- You are requesting to complete a future required General Education elective earlier than scheduled in your Program of Studies.
- You missed, failed, or dropped a required General Education elective in a previous semester and need assistance registering in an appropriate make-up course.
- Note: During the add/drop period, students may be able to self-register in missed/failed General Education electives through the registration system. However, some courses may have program restrictions that are not automatically enforced by the system. Please review the General Education Program Restrictions before registering.
- You have already completed all required General Education electives for your program, but you would like to take an additional elective course to maintain full-time status.
- Note: Requests for additional General Education electives will only be considered towards the end of add/drop if space remains available after students requiring General Education elective credits for graduation have been accommodated. As such, students who have already completed all required General Education electives are encouraged to first consult with their program area to explore possible alternative options for establishing full-time enrolment (e.g., registering for a missing core course, retaking a core course, or taking an appropriate course via Continuing Education).
