The Campus Student Employment Program (CSEP) aims to connect students with meaningful real work experience.
ONLY 1 FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROFILE APPLICATION IS REQUIRED EVEN IF YOU HAVE APPLIED FOR MULTIPLE POSITIONS.
This application contains 7 pages and will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
Before You Apply
- Ensure that your address is up-to-date in MyMohawk (opens new window) on the Home page under "Personal Information".
- Confirm your SIN through MyMohawk (opens new window) on the Payments and Statements tab, click "Submit or verify my SIN". Funds received through this application are taxable and receiving an award will generate a T4A tax document.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a CSEP-funded position, a student must meet the following criteria:
- Registered with a full-time (70% or greater) course load in a post-secondary program or in a continuing education diploma or certificate program (Students registered in a co-op work term are not eligible - Students must be registered in an academic term)
- Be a Domestic or International student
- Complete this application and demonstrate financial need (Mandatory)
- Be in good academic standing
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN), and
- Have a valid work permit (International only)
Your Budget
Completing a budget sheet (Excel download) with your expenses and resources for the semester you are applying for will help us determine your financial need.
- Your excel budget sheet is meant to assist you with filling in the budget section of this application and is not required to be submitted with your application.
- You may be asked to provide proof of payments or income to verify the amounts you have claimed in your budget.

Important Information
Withdrawing from studies or dropping to part-time
- Hired CSEP students who withdraw from studies or drop to part-time will no longer be CSEP eligible and their contract will end immediately.
Review Process
- Financial need is reviewed and calculated by the Financial Assistance Office who will include all available confirmed resources. You may be contacted to provide confirmation or proof of claimed expenses.
- All student budget expenses will be reviewed based on the Ministry guideline of allowable expenses.
- The assessment and decisions by Mohawk College are final. All fund-related decisions will be made in a fair and substantiated fashion, according to the availability of funds.
Notifications
- Students inquiring about their application submission must send their inquiry from their Mohawk College email account.
- Students can indicate if they do not want to receive emails from Financial Assistance but notifications or updates regarding their application submission will not be sent to an alternate email address.
- All applicants will be notified as to the outcome of their review via their Mohawk College email.
- Reviews will be ongoing until the end of the semester. It is your responsibility to monitor and respond as requested.
Application Submissions
- All information submitted within this application will be kept in the strictest confidence and can only be disclosed to the student applicant via their Mohawk College email.
- If you need to adjust or edit your application after it has been submitted, you will need to submit another application with your adjustments before the closing date. Your last submission will be reviewed.
