In her 4 years working in Canada, she has accomplished to engineer a Gold Single while working with band such as: Three Days Grace, July Talk, The Trews, Harrison Kennedy and The Ascot Royals. Having worked as a fulltime engineer at Jukasa made it possible to work with renowned Engineers and Producers: Gavin Brown (Billy Talent, Barenaked Ladies, The Tragically Hip), Mike Plotnikoff (Three Days Grace, Hoobastank, Daughtry), Ian Davenport (July Talk, Wir Sind Helden), Denis Tougas (Geddy Lee, Rush, Amanda Marshall) and Jeff Diezel (Ascot Royals).

Coming from Cologne, Germany, Jill followed her dream to work in the North American Music Industry with its wealth of talented musicians and artists. Music was always part of her entire life, that included violin lessons, orchestra / choir rehearsals, playing the guitar and singing. Jill found her true passion for music and sound especially after attending many European and North American concerts and festivals.
This all lead her to develop an interest in sound engineering at an early age. She achieved a Bachelor of Engineering in Media Technology specialized in Audio at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf, Germany. In addition, she achieved the Bachelor of Arts in Audio Production at the School of Audio Engineering (SAE) in Cologne, Germany. At the SAE, she had the chance to learn from established engineers such as; Hans-Martin Buff (Prince, Scorpions, No Doubt), Kai Blankenberg (Die Toten Hosen, Donots, Beatsteaks) and Wolfgang Stach (BAP, Guano Apes).
In 2010, she was selected as one of the ten most dedicated and motivated audio engineering students in all of Europe, being awarded the ‘Scholarship Of Sound’ presented by AKG Acoustics.
The program was sponsored by Grammy award winning producer Quincy Jones (Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Aretha Franklin). Being sent on a week long seminar to Berlin, Germany, she received private instruction, lectures and workshops.
During her studies, Jill had the chance to work in many different fields of audio. In live sound, her responsibilities and involvement were in the fields of mixing, stage-managing and stage-setup / teardown for many indie bands such as Hamilton’s own, Arkells.
She has also worked extensively in radio and television broadcasting. Having been part of the ‘Giesing Team’ in Düsseldorf, Germany, Jill recorded, edited and mixed the sound for commercials, corporate videos and audio books. She has also worked for other video related audio on location sound, soundtrack mixing and dialogue editing for internationally screened independent movies.

Working in various audio fields and getting hands-on experience with different types of consoles throughout her career lent to a better understanding about sound, which Jill relates to everyday in the studio environment.
