Official Contest Rules

This contest begins Monday, October 5, 2026, and closes Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (the “Contest Period"), after which time no further entries will be accepted.
ENTRY TERMS: Eligible participants and their tagged best friend are registered Mohawk College students in a full-time or part-time Ontario College Certificate, Ontario College Diploma, Ontario College Advanced Diploma or Ontario College Graduate Certificate program or Joint/Degree (for fall 2026) at any campus location of Mohawk for the Fall 2026 Semester. Only one (1) entry is permitted per person. In the event it is discovered that any individual attempted to enter the Contest more than once, all entries by that individual will be disqualified from this Contest. All entries become the property of Mohawk, and none will be returned. By entering the Contest, the entrant agrees to comply with these Official Contest Rules (“Rules”).
HOW TO ENTER: To enter, an eligible entrant must follow the official Mohawk College (mohawk.college) Instagram account, like the Fall Gift Basket contest post published on Monday, October 5, 2026, use the comment section to tag a friend’s Instagram account.
PRIZES: One (1) Prize is available to be won. Each Prize consists of an Uber gift card ($100), two (2) tickets to Royal Botanical Garden’s Great Pumpkin Trail event on Saturday, October 24, at 7:30 pm ($54.00), a plaid throw blanket ($39.99), two (2) fall-themed mugs ($17.98), a wood crate ($13.53), a Sand + Paws Candle ($12.99), a three-pack of Matteo's Coffee Syrup ($12.99), a small bag of Sander's Chocolate ($9.99), and a bag of Butter Tart Pretzels ($4.99). To be eligible to receive the Prize as awarded, a winner must meet the Entry Terms outlined. Prize winners are solely responsible for any additional costs, taxes or fees not expressly described herein including, without limitation, all personal expenses of any kind. Prize winners must claim their Prize within the period of time as set out in these Rules or as otherwise determined by Mohawk. Failure to claim a Prize when required by these Rules will result in forfeiture and, in such event, an alternate winner will be selected from among the other eligible entries received. In the event a Prize winner is under the age of majority, he or she must receive written consent from a parent or guardian to accept the Prize.
Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash. There will be no substitutions except at Mohawk’s option. Mohawk reserves the right to substitute a prize or prize component for one of equal or greater value.

RANDOM DRAW AND ODDS: One Prize will be awarded to an eligible entrant and their best friend, randomly drawn from all eligible submissions received during the Contest Period. The random draw will take place at or shortly after 11 a.m. Eastern Time on Thursday, October 8, 2026.

Winners will be notified within 24-hours from the draw by Instagram Direct Message (DM). If a selected entrant cannot be contacted within such 24-hour period after being selected, he or she will forfeit their Prize and an alternate winner will be selected. Prizes will be only delivered to confirmed winners. Shipping costs will be borne by the winner if delivery by any means other than pick-up at Mohawk is requested.

Proof of identification must be provided upon request. Before being awarded a Prize, potential winners, or their parent or legal guardian (in the event that they are under the age of majority), will be required to sign and return, within the time stipulated by Mohawk, a full release and indemnity form stating, among other things, that he or she (a) has read and understood these Rules, (b) grants all consents required and authorizes Mohawk to broadcast, publish and disseminate the winner’s name, city of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, in connection with any promotion or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winners, beyond the awarding of or participation in the Prize, (c) accepts the Prize as offered and (d) releases and indemnifies Mohawk, its directors, officers, faculty, employees and staff from any and all liability of any kind arising out of or relating to the potential winner‘s participation in this Contest, or to their receipt and use of a Prize.

In the event that a potential winner does not comply with all the eligibility criteria as set out in these Rules, Mohawk will have the right to disqualify such potential winner and draw an alternate potential winner. All decisions made by Mohawk with respect to any aspect of this Contest are final and binding.

The odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period.

CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION: By participating in this Contest, each entrant agrees:
(a) that he or she has read, understood and will abide by these Rules;
(b) to be bound by these Rules and the decisions of Mohawk, whose decisions are final;
(c) to provide proof of age, proof of registration in an eligible program and proof of Ontario residency;
(d) to allow Mohawk to use the winner's name, city of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, recording, video footage or statements for editorial purposes without compensation other than the value of the Prize offered; and
(e) that a winner must return all necessary information, releases and consents required by these Rules within four (4) days following notification that the entrant has won, failing which the Prize will be forfeited and will be awarded to an alternate randomly drawn entry.
ELIGIBILITY: THIS CONTEST IS OPEN ONLY TO RESIDENTS OF ONTARIO, CANADA. This Contest is only open to residents of Ontario, Canada who are over the age of majority (or have the consent of their parents or guardians if under the age of majority).
The following are ineligible to win Prizes or enter this Contest: (a) employees of Mohawk or its corporate partners, employees of any other public college in Ontario, each of their respective spouses, parents, children and siblings and any other person living in the same residence with any of them.
To be eligible for the Prize draw, entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
GENERAL RULES: Mohawk will not be held responsible or bear any liability for:
(a) late-received, lost, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries, all of which will be deemed void, or for any typographical or other production or distribution errors;
(b) entries which fail to comply with these Rules;

This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. Contest Rules are subject to change without notice, if necessary, to comply with any applicable law or policy of Mohawk.

If for any reason this Contest is not capable of being completed as planned, including but not limited to by reason of computer virus, bugs, tampering, technical failures or other causes beyond the control of Mohawk, Mohawk reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify the Contest or any part thereof. In addition, Mohawk may for any reason amend or terminate this Contest or any portion thereof at its discretion without advance or further notice.

This Contest will run in accordance with these Rules, subject to amendment by Mohawk. Entrants must comply with these Rules and, participating in this Contest, will be deemed to have received and understood them. All entries that are incomplete, submitted through illicit means or that do not comply with these Rules or satisfy the criteria set out herein will be disqualified. Mohawk College Fall 2026 Open House Tuition Contest

No purchase necessary. Contest begins on October 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EST and ends on November 11, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Individuals who registered for the Fall Open House between May 14, 2026 and November 11, 2026 will be automatically entered, unless they opt out in accordance with the full contest rules. There is a total of one prize available to be won as follows: a $5,000 tuition credit, applied in two $2,500 instalments during the winner’s first year of an eligible full-time program. Open only to eligible Ontario residents who are at least 17 years old and are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons. Additional enrolment and prize conditions apply. Skill-testing question required. Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received or deemed received before contest closes. Limit one entry per person.

Official Contest Rules

Sponsor. The Mohawk College Fall 2026 Open House Tuition Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Mohawk College Recruitment, 135 Fennell Ave. W Hamilton ON L9C 0E5 (“Sponsor”).
Eligibility and Contest Rules. This Contest is open to legal residents of Ontario, Canada, who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or protected persons, and who are 17 years of age or older at the time of entry. Residents of Québec are excluded. Entrants must submit the official Contest entry form and consent to receive email communications from Mohawk College. Entrants under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian responsible for all aspects of the Contest on their behalf, including receipt of the prize and signing any required releases or other documents.
Entrants must be entering Term 1, Level 1 of a full-time, non-apprenticeship program at Mohawk College beginning in September 2027 or Winter 2028. To remain eligible to receive the prize, entrants must have accepted an offer of admission to an eligible full-time program and be in good financial standing after Day 10 of classes in their applicable intake.
Employees of Mohawk College, their spouses, parents, children, siblings, and anyone living in the same household as any of these individuals are ineligible to enter or win. Mohawk College reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time during or after the Contest period and may request supporting documentation.
The $5,000 tuition credit is applicable only to the winner’s first year of full-time studies in their selected Mohawk College program and cannot be applied toward subsequent years of study or apprenticeship programs. The tuition credit will be distributed in two instalments of $2,500 each during the winner’s first year of study. The first instalment will be applied to Semester 1, and the second instalment will be applied to Semester 2, based on the winner’s program start date and applicable academic schedule.
By participating in this Contest, entrants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with these Contest Rules. Any entrant who fails to comply with these rules may be disqualified at the Sponsor’s sole discretion.
Contest Dates and Times. The Contest begins on October 14, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. EST. Individuals who registered for the Fall Open House between May 14, 2026 and November 11, 2026 will be automatically entered, unless they opt out in accordance with the full contest rules and ends on November 11, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern TIME ZONE after which time the Contest will be closed and no further entries will be accepted.
How to Enter. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. You can enter by filling out the Open House registration form via the website or QR code check-in to win at any of the four Fall campus Open House events. For this Contest receipt of an Internet entry occurs when Sponsor's server records the entry information. All entries must be complete and are subject to verification by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion. Limit ONE ENTRY LIMIT.
Any attempt or suspected attempt to use robotic, automatic, programmed or otherwise illicit means to enter the Contest, or any other methods not authorized by these Contest Rules, for example, but not limited to, creating multiple accounts, identities, or registrations, all in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, shall be deemed as tampering and may disqualify you from entering, participating and/or winning a prize. Entries that contain false or incomplete information are void. Entries that are late, lost, stolen, illegible, contain false information, are damaged, misdirected, mutilated, garbled or incomplete, altered or otherwise irregular or that do not conform with or satisfy any or all of the conditions of the Contest Rules are void. Entrants grant Sponsor a non-exclusive licence to use all entries for any purpose. No correspondence will be entered into except with Selected Entrants. Proof of transmission (for example, screenshots or captures) does not constitute proof of entry or receipt of an entry.
Privacy. By entering the Contest, entrants consent to the collection, use, disclosure and retention of their personal information by the Sponsor and its authorized service providers for the purposes of administering the Contest, determining eligibility, contacting Selected Entrants, awarding prizes, and as otherwise described in these Contest Rules. Personal information collected in connection with this Contest will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (Ontario), and the Sponsor’s policies. Personal information will not be used or disclosed for any other purpose without the entrant's consent, unless permitted or required by law.
Contest Prizes. There is a total of ONE PRIZE available to be won as follows: $5000 tuition credit for the 2027- 2028 academic year (approximate retail value: five thousand dollars ($5000.00).
All winners assume any and all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by entering, participating in this Contest or the use or redemption of a prize. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not transferable or convertible to cash, except at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. Prizes or any portion of a prize cannot be combined with other discounts, promotions or special offers. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute an alternate prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize is unavailable at the time of award.
Odds of Winning. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received before the Contest End Date.
Skill-testing Question. Selected Entrants will be required, as a condition of winning a prize, to correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, the Sponsor’s time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question to be administered by Recruitment. To win, selected entrants must first have correctly answered the following mathematical skill-testing question: (62 - 60) + (10 x 2) =
Winner Selection and Confirmation. On November 18, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern TIME at Mohawk College 135 Fennell Ave. W, Hamilton, ON, L9C 0E5 (“November 18, 2026 ”), the Sponsor, or an employee, agent or other representative of the Sponsor, will conduct a random draw from all eligible entries received before the Contest End Date and select the potential winners (“Selected Entrant”). Selected Entrant will be deemed winners if they meet all of the eligibility criteria set out in these Contest Rules. If a Selected Entrant does not meet the eligibility criteria, he/she will be disqualified and will not receive a prize and another entrant will be selected by way of a random draw from the remaining eligible entries. Before being declared a winner, Selected Entrant will be required to: (i) correctly answer the Sponsor’s skill-testing question; (ii) sign and return the Sponsor’s Declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release form (“Winner Release”); and (iii) comply with all other Contest Rules, all in the sole discretion of Sponsor.
Selected Entrant will be notified within FIVE (5) business days of the contest draw and will be contacted by email] provided at the time of entry into the Contest. Up to three attempts will be made to contact Selected Entrants within FIVE (5) business days following the draw. A Selected Entrant who does not or cannot accept a prize may be forfeited and a new Selected Entrant may be selected by random draw, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion. A signed copy of the Sponsor’s Winner Release must be received by the Sponsor no later than November 25, 2026. Sponsor is not responsible for the failure for any reason whatsoever of a Selected Entrant to receive notification or for the Sponsor to receive a Selected Entrant’s response.
Disputes regarding identity of entrant: If the identity of a Selected Entrant is disputed, the entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the individual assigned to the email address entered at the time of entry. Each Selected Entrant may be required to provide proof that he/she is the Authorized Account Holder associated with a selected entry.
Release and Indemnification. All winners must sign the Sponsor’s Winner Release to: (i) confirm compliance with all Contest Rules; (ii) agree to accept prizes as awarded; (iii) release, discharge and hold harmless the Sponsor, its departments and agencies, parent, related and affiliated companies, subsidiaries, franchisees, advertising and promotional agencies, counsel, marketing partners, and each of their respective directors, officers, employees, shareholders, successors, sponsors, partners, licensees, subsidiaries, agents, artists, advisors, assignees, and all others associated with the administration, development and execution of the Contest (“Released Parties”) from and against any claims, losses, damages or liabilities arising out of the entrant’s participation in the Contest or the acceptance, use or misuse of a prize, and the use of entries by the Sponsor, except to the extent caused by the negligence or wilful misconduct of a Released Party; and (iv) indemnify the Released Parties against any loss, damage or expense, including reasonable legal fees, resulting from the entrant’s breach of these Contest Rules.
The Sponsor is not responsible for: (i) incorrect or inaccurate entry information that may affect a person’s ability to participate in the Contest or be awarded a prize, including but not limited to human error, technical malfunctions, lost or delayed entries for any reason, mail failures, omission, or any combination thereof, and entries that fail to fully comply with these Contest Rules; (ii) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (iii) lost, incomplete, delayed, mutilated or misdirected entries or Winner Releases; (iv) injury or damage to entrants’ computers or to any other individual’s computer related to or resulting from participating in, or downloading any material regarding the Contest or accepting a prize; (v) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize, including any related travel and the use of entries by Sponsor; (vi) the security or privacy of information transmitted via computer networks or for breaches of privacy due to interference by third-party computer hackers or otherwise; or (vii) late, lost, misdirected or unsuccessful efforts to notify a potential winner.
Other Conditions. The Sponsor reserves the right to terminate or amend this Contest at any time and in any way, without prior notice to entrants. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned for any reason, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest and conduct a random draw from all previously received eligible entries received by the Contest End Date.
If this Contest is promoted or administered through a social media platform, the Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with such social media platform. By participating in the Contest, entrants release the applicable social media platform from any liability arising from or related to the Contest.
Publicity and Entrant Information. By accepting a prize, winners consent to the Sponsor’s use of their name, city/province of residence, social media handle(s), comments and image, whether on videotape, photograph or any other means, for publicity purposes without further notice or compensation, unless prohibited by law.
Law. The Contest is void where prohibited by law and is subject to all applicable Canadian federal, provincial, territorial, municipal and local laws. This Contest shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of Ontario, including all issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Contest rules, rights and obligations between entrants and the Sponsor, and procedural provisions, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules. Any dispute shall be adjudicated by the courts sitting in the Province of Ontario.
Rule Amendments. The Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to amend or modify these Contest Rules, or modify, cancel or suspend this Contest, without prior notice for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation in the event that any cause beyond the reasonable control of the Sponsor corrupts, or threatens to corrupt, the security or proper administration of the Contest.
Intellectual Property. (d) any and all losses, damages or claims caused by or resulting from this Contest or Mohawk College's sponsorship of it.

If for any reason this Contest is not capable of being completed as planned, including but not limited to by reason of computer virus, bugs, tampering, technical failures or other causes beyond the control of Mohawk College, Mohawk College reserves the right to cancel, suspend or modify the Contest or any part thereof. In addition, Mohawk College may for any reason amend or terminate this Contest or any portion thereof at its discretion without advance or further notice.

Personal information provided by entrants will only be used for the purpose of administration of the Contest or as otherwise stated in these Rules, unless the entrant otherwise agrees in accordance with Mohawk College's data privacy policy posted on our website at www.mohawkcollege.ca/Legal.html. Entry in this Contest by an individual will be deemed to be his or her consent to the collection and use of his or her personal information as set out above.

Unauthorized copying is prohibited.

Official Rules

Sponsor

The Student Night Shootout Challenge (the "Challenge") is sponsored by The Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology ("Mohawk").

Eligibility

The Challenge is open to individuals who:

hold a valid ticket for admission to the event;
are present at the event when selected; and
are at least 18 years of age.

Employees of Mohawk College directly involved in administering the Challenge and members of their immediate families are not eligible to participate.

Participant Selection

Eligible attendees will be randomly selected from the audience during the event to participate in the Challenge.

Selected attendees must present themselves to event staff within the time specified by event staff. If a selected attendee cannot be located, declines to participate, is ineligible, or fails to comply with these Official Rules, an alternate attendee may be selected.

Challenge Format

Randomly selected participants will compete in an on-ice hockey shootout challenge during the event.

The format of the Challenge, including the number of shots, scoring method, tie-breakers, and any other competition rules, will be determined and communicated by event officials before the Challenge begins.

All decisions of event officials regarding the operation of the Challenge, scoring, tie-breakers, and determination of the winner are final and binding.

Prize

One (1) VISA gift card valued at CAD $500 will be awarded.

The participant determined by event officials to be the winner of the Challenge will receive the prize.

The prize must be accepted as awarded, is non-transferable, and may not be exchanged for cash.

Participation

Participation is voluntary.

By agreeing to participate, participants acknowledge that the Challenge involves physical activity and the inherent risks associated with entering the playing surface and participating in a hockey-related activity. Participants agree to follow all instructions provided by event officials and arena staff.

Publicity

By accepting the prize, the winner consents to Mohawk College and its event partners using the winner's name, photograph, likeness, and statements relating to the Challenge for promotional and communications purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

General

Mohawk reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the Challenge if required due to safety concerns, arena requirements, operational considerations, or circumstances beyond Mohawk's reasonable control.

By participating in the Challenge, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Mohawk and event officials, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Challenge.
