Virtual Simulated Paralegal Work Placement Program Development and Piloting for Student Experiences

The Mohawk College Paralegal diploma and St. Clair College faculty teams will create a virtual legal office and scenarios for students to complete 120-hours of experiential learning for their practicum placement. They will develop mock paralegal scenarios that students will complete virtually, which will replicate in-person and real-life experiences. The virtual placements’ value will extend beyond the current lockdown to circumstances when students or placement companies have health or logistics limitations, which provides long-term needs and sustainability.

Technology-Supported Intervention for Improved Fitness Centre Client Engagement

Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, over 80% of fitness consumers live-streamed workouts, compared with 7% in 2019. That is a significant increase of more than 73%, and fitness centres need to innovate to provide virtual solutions for their clients. A Mohawk College team comprised of Health, Wellness and Fitness professors who are experts in fitness programs, technology-supported delivery and the fitness industry will lead the project and collaborate with a fitness centre to design, deliver, measure, and assess the virtual program.
