Steve completed his education at the University of Western Ontario, and then moved to New Zealand to complete his teacher education training at the University of Canterbury. Before permanently returning to Canada, he spent several years teaching in Australia and New Zealand.
He has been teaching at Mohawk College since 2015, and before that, worked as a Student Success Advisor.
In 2024, Steven was the recipient of the Excellence in Adult Education Award, which is one of his most proud accomplishments, aside from raising his children.
In his downtime, he enjoys fishing, gardening, hiking, swimming, or anything in the outdoors. Steven has a remote cabin that is 12 hours north of Hamilton (3 hours of dirt road), which is where he likes to spend a lot of his free time. Steven also has a background of playing basketball, and spent many seasons competing in Canada, USA, and Europe.
