Afraz is a professor of Business Analytics and Data Management at the McKeil School of Business. She also serves as the Program Coordinator for the Bachelor of Analytics and Data Management (Honours) - 392 undergraduate degree.
She holds a Master of Computer Science and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence. Her doctoral research introduced an innovative model for social media-based sentiment analysis in morphologically rich languages, earning international recognition through multiple peer-reviewed publications.
With over twenty years of experience in university and college-level teaching, curriculum development, and research, Afraz is a dedicated computer science professional. She is committed to Outcome-Based Education and strongly advocates for learner-centered teaching. In 2015, she was recognized as a Higher Education Academy Fellow for her contributions to professional practice in higher education.
Afraz has authored more than twenty publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
