Labs and Simulation Spaces
Composite Manufacturing Lab
With support from aerospace industrial partners, this lab provides students with the experience of an operational manufacturing plant.
Students from our Aviation Technician - Aircraft Maintenance and Aviation Technician - Aircraft Structures programs will use this lab to learn how to build aircraft parts. The lab focuses on composite materials, with full production control and quality assurance systems, teaching students to follow the best practices used by major companies.
Cyber Security Learning Lab 1
A dedicated, air-gapped network environment. It allows students to simulate offensive and defensive "Red Team/Blue Team" scenarios, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments without risking external networks.
Cyber Security Learning Lab 2
A dedicated, air-gapped network environment. It allows students to simulate offensive and defensive "Red Team/Blue Team" scenarios, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments without risking external networks.
Dirty Room
Commonly referred to as the “Dirty Room,” this specialized workspace is designed for the fabrication and finishing of aircraft composite parts. It houses a CNC machine used to create molds and tooling essential for composite manufacturing. The room also accommodates grinding, sanding, and trimming operations, ensuring that all finishing tasks are performed in a controlled environment.
Electrical Circuits Lab
The core training ground for AC/DC circuit analysis. Students use oscilloscopes, function generators, and breadboards to build and troubleshoot fundamental electronic systems.
Electricity Lab
Students build practical skills using industry-relevant equipment while exploring the technologies that power homes, businesses, and modern infrastructure.
Electronics Lab (Airport)
First-year students from all three Mohawk aviation technician programs—Aircraft Maintenance, Aircraft Structures and Avionics Maintenance—will use this lab to learn basic electrical and electronic theory, providing them with fundamental hands-on skills in circuit diagnostics and repair.
Electronics Lab (Fennell Campus)
The Electronics Lab at Mohawk College’s Fennell Campus provides students with a hands-on learning environment where they can design, build, test, and troubleshoot electronic circuits and systems. Equipped with industry-standard computer workstations, networking equipment, and electronic testing tools, the lab supports practical learning in areas such as electronics, digital systems, communications, and embedded technologies. Students develop real-world technical skills through applied projects that mirror current industry practices.
Electrotechnology Lab
The Electrotechnology Lab at Mohawk College’s Fennell Campus provides students with hands-on experience in electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and control systems. Using industry-standard equipment and technology, students develop practical skills in system design, testing, troubleshooting, and automation while preparing for careers in today’s evolving electrical and manufacturing industries.
