Systems Lab
In the Systems Lab, students gain hands-on experience with aircraft electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems, learning how to inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain the complex systems found in modern aircraft.
Technology Automation Lab
The hub for Industry 4.0. It features PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), sensors, and actuators. Students learn to program automated assembly lines and integrate robotic arms.
The Agency
The Agency at Mohawk College is a student-powered creative studio where learners collaborate with real clients on marketing, design, digital media, and communications projects. Guided by industry experts, students gain hands-on experience in an enterprising, fast-paced environment that mirrors a professional agency. It's a space where talent, creativity, and industry-driven learning come together.
Truck and Coach Lab
In this lab, truck and coach technicians and mechanical repairers inspect, diagnose, repair and service mechanical, electrical and electronic systems and components of heavy trucks and buses, as well as light and commercial transport trucks.
Turbine Engines Lab
A turbine engine uses pressurized air passed over blades, called turbines, to create the thrust used to move the aircraft. The engine is made in two basic sections: a gas generator with an accessory gearbox and a free power turbine with reduction gearbox. There are many variants of turbine engines used on planes, helicopters, land vehicles, boats and for industrial uses.
Use of Force Lab
The Use of Force Lab is a controlled, hands-on training space where students develop practical skills related to safety, control and appropriate response techniques. Through guided, scenario-based learning, students practice physical tactics, communication and decision-making in situations that reflect real-world challenges. The lab supports experiential learning by emphasizing professionalism, risk assessment and the responsible application of force within a structured and supervised environment.
Virtual Maintenance Lab
Students from all three Mohawk aviation technician programs—Aircraft Maintenance, Aircraft Structures and Avionics Maintenance—will use this computer lab to learn how to navigate aircraft maintenance manuals and reports.
VR Welding Lab
In the VR Welding Lab students practice welding in a safe, risk-free environment. Students are able to try different types of welds, positions, material and even oxy-fuel cutting on a realistic job site. The weld can be manipulated with the same precision as welding in a shop or on a jobsite. This lab is built to give students the confidence they need to be successful before they step into the shop.
