Tuition Refund Exception Request Form

The Tuition Refund Exception Request form is to be completed by applicants and students who wish to request an exception to the Fee, Withdrawal and Tuition Refund  Policy. Staff members may submit the form on behalf of a student. If this form is being completed by a parent, guardian, or agency representative, a completed Release of Information Form must be on file before any information can be shared. For more information, please contact registrar [at] mohawkcollege.ca (registrar[at]mohawkcollege[dot]ca).

For active students, the outcome of a Tuition Refund Exception Request will be sent to the student's Mohawk email address. Students who no longer have access to an active Mohawk email account should provide a personal email address to receive the decision.

Reminder:

Refund and withdrawal exceptions are to support students who faced an unforeseen event or circumstance which prevented their ability to start/return to studies or complete a term. These are events which are outside the control of the student, could not have been reasonably foreseen or avoided and/or significantly impacted the students’ ability to remain a student.  Tuition Refund Exception Requests forms submitted without valid grounds will not move forward in the review process.

The Fee, Withdrawal and Tuition Refund Policy states that a refund and/or withdrawal exemption requests must be received within six (6) months from the last day of the term in which the student was enrolled (or had applied) for which the exception request is being submitted.

If submitting a refund/withdrawal exception for the current semester and before the academic withdrawal deadline, students must first complete a course or program withdrawal form. If submitting a refund/withdrawal exception past the academic withdrawal deadline, or for a previous semester, a withdrawal form is not required.
