Why pursue a career in automotive and smart mobility?
The automotive and smart mobility sector has been growing for years and will only continue to grow larger. Vehicles and the transportation they provide are services that will continue to be used for decades if not centuries, meaning the industry isn’t going anywhere.
The industry is continuously striving to make new advancements, create more functional designs and push the limits of technology further. The sector allows creative and strategic fulfillment in its approach to problem solving and tackling new campaigns – no two days will look alike.
If you have a passion for vehicles or want to help create cutting-edge automotive technology, this might be the sector for you.
Why are we doing this work?
Exposing youth to the automotive and smart mobility sectors and allow equal opportunities to enter the sector is key to the Put Your Future in Motion program. Our goal is to increase exposure, create accessibility for equity-deserving and underrepresented groups exploring careers, identify opportunities to build sustainable programs based on pilot programming and to facilitate collaboration across Ontario between non-profit organizations, academic institutions and the automotive and mobility industry.
Who are our partners in this work?
OVIN is led by the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI) and supported by the Government of Ontario’s Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade (MEDJCT) and Ministry of Transportation (MTO), and the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development (MLTSD).
